Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom) is a masterpiece of High Gothic architecture & A UNESCO World Heritage site that took 632 years to complete (1248–1880) and is famous for its 157 meter twin spires:Once the tallest building in the world.

   It is one of the oldest German cities, founded 2,000 years since by the Roman Empire. The Cathedral, as you might guess when you gasp, literally, as you embrace its mysterious majestic persona coming out of the train station, is a UNESCO heritage site. 
   The city itself is very charming, although it doesn't have that small town feel Aachen does, it is steeped in history and independent diverse cafes and restaurants. A vibrant cultural tourism city that welcomes internationals and progressive curious minds. Especially when it comes to food!Photo
   Cologne is the city that has been "in" since 2,000 years, a vibrant art scene for centuries and the best and funkiest bars and clubs that rival even Berlin. Along with local poetry and classical text readings, modern music and a world renowned classical theater and ballet scene, you'll fall in love with Cologne.

 And if you want to have a little bawdy carnival fun, skip Venice and head to Cologne. The city comes alive during carnival days and everybody is encouraged to dress up. 
    And as my Grandfather always said as he would throw bananas at us when he had alzheimers,"Do you want a banana? I don't want a banana." Okay! Look for the sign of the famous sprayed banana: a symbol of social and political events.
