DEGGINGER, the Cultural Bar...at Wahlenstrasse 17

Werner is a young Regensburger, "I studied Architecture and I apply that here on a monthly basis." he says, when I interview him today at the Funky totally Promotive Cultural Interactive Center in Regensburg. "Another architect built the bar yet I change it every month. And here it is challenging since we always have something going on. For instance we have a night of dancing named Swinging Coffee with the Andi's Bluesorchester, and we have live music on stage, and we have the mayor talking about important issues, that the community can come and join in on, and we have poetry readings and book readings. We even have a house jazz band, and we had a dance for Human Rights."
"Alright we have two workshop spaces, on is the Pop-up room where anybody can just pop-up and start brainstorming and being creative and the other is a more formal room that the city government takes appointments for. In the Pop-up Room whatever you create you can exhibit and sell, such as arts and crafts, bicycles, etc. Whatever you make. You can work with several different people from the city, or university or just yourself." says Werner. "And while you're working you can order the Rehorik Coffee and something to eat. It is great!"

                            Call 0941 5072856
"Sometimes the people in the Pop-up room hire artists or graphic artists for the day and they bring the graphic artists here to brainstorm. We hope when they work with each other that they make something with each other, but I guess sometimes it is not always the case! Maybe they go and make their own things!" jokes Werner.
"A big cultural item that we do is the Artist in Residence. We've had 5 artists from around the world, Israel, Russia, White Russia, Spain, Germany, and they are flown in to Regensburg,  housed with us one week, and free meals and they paint one wall in the Cultural Center of Degginger and One wall somewhere in the city. Once they do that they're allowed to hang the pictures the entire month in the Degginger and people can come and see the art and perhaps purchase it. It is a exciting and interactive project that we're most proud of. The artist here now is named MAX 13 from Russia." says Werner.

I personally love the children's programs that they promote. It is very important to introduce a child at the early age the art of play acting and of protecting the environment and of being a person of interest in the commumity. Through the artistic cultural programs that is easy to do when you introduce it at a early age. Here a Princess plays with a program named "kids musical colors" Looks like fun, right?! How interested personally is Werner in each of the programs? "I love music and the arts and I am learning how to cook, does that count?" he says. "And the fashion is of interest to me since in a couple of weeks I am going to Berlin to see the Fashion week on teh 17, 18, and the 19th. It is both for business and fashion and the fashion of business. Since that is a art we can try introducing that here too!" he says. Cool guy and cool place. Must come. Ciao hope you love it.

Below Florian and the lovely lady is Uta(his mom)...it is difficult with names she has been at the Jazz Club,        "20 years and 3," she gushes. She is adorable and as usual the most romantic hidden mysterious lovely dinner ever.

The Mueller white wine is a bit sweet and tangy for my taste however I managed to drink all of it and took a picture of my candlelight dinner. "A little surprise from the kitchen," says Florian as he brings fresh pumpkin bread and a little tiny bruschette with mushrooms. Image may contain: food
Winifried and Traudl (Winny to his friends) have owned the Leerer-Beutel and the current location of the Jazz Club venue about 25 years now. "Winny has always been the Artist in the company and I have always had the love of Jazz," says Traudl. "We originally were on the other side of the river and that is all that we were interested in the art and music and the artists...when the music got a little too loud and the club a little too big for the residents, we moved into the building we are now. However, the stipulation was that they wanted a restaurant on the side here and we thought alright let us do the restaurant too since that will bring more people to love and learn about jazz and give us a showplace where more people can see the young artists we promote. It all started for the artists and now the restaurant is more famous 25 years later than the Jazz Club and the Art that Winny loves!" says his adorable wife, Traudl. "The Jazz Club now is one of the biggest clubs in Germany."  And the artists? "Now we have Urban Planning? Is that right? It is the design of cities from various artists and it is here 2 months. I love when the restaurant guests stand up from their dinner and wander around to see the art. It is amazing how many more people see young artists's work here at the Beutel than say in a gallery. On opening night of a gallery for a exhibition people come yet they come much less during a exhibit. Here they see the work everyday. Winny enjoys finding new artists and helping them gain recognition." says Traudl.

Outside the haunting streets of Regensburg...

Leerer-beutel and the Jazz Club is hidden down a cobblestoned alley and just the atmosphere lends itself to mystique and expectancy. A lovely jewel that, can I say?, is my favorite romantic place to dine in Regensburg.  Bertoldstraße 9/  49 941 58997.

You can catch a small duo on Thursday the 19th of January to see Scratching the Silence with Dieter Kohnlein and Uwe Kropinski           http://www.jazzclub-regensburg.de/home.html

The inside of the restaurant is delicate and elegant amongst wooden beams and century old stone walls that are covered with the artists work.  They have such heavenly dishes as Farmduck, Pumpkin Soup, Salmon and veal, and Venison! It is a real fine dining experience with the coolest artisitic owners to indulge in conversation with.

When I first met Winifried he tried to explain his love of art with 1/2 German and 1/2 English, "Tenacious" is how I would describe him. "Yes I am tenacious. I am young and I always try. When people ask me if it is fun to own a art gallery and a jazz club and a international restaurant I say that it is work. You must make sure everything is perfect and when you present  the food it must meet the expectations of the guests and the guest's expectations are rising every year." he has said in interviews with me. When you see the restaurant and if you have known him since 4 years you know that he puts a tremendous amount of love and care into showcasing all three venues. "The artists that I choose come from everywhere and I choose the theme each segment. I never ask a artist what does that painting mean? It is the interpretation of art and how it makes us feel that is important." Image may contain: 3 people, indoor
Here is the Brewing Company giving a taste of Beer. "We have the actual bewmaster that comes and he talks about the beer and the process and we invite everyone of the Craft Brewer's to come and try. The students love it, the tourists love it, the Regensburger's love it. When I went to America about 4 years ago, my wife and I went to Philadelphia, New York, Cape Cod, Boston, Washington DC, etc. and we tried different beers and one person said to me you know when you are in Germany it is difficult to try new beers, they only have German beers. And I thought yes that is true. I came back here and we started the Craft Beers Festival. The first year it totally sold out of beer! And Spital Brewery is one of the sponsors and we still sold out of the beer! That is how many people came and drank the beer. And after that we opened the Craft Beer store! My advertising partner, Martin, and I thought it a good idea since it is the only one in Regensburg." Says Thomas.                                      https://www.facebook.com/birretta.bierbar/                                                                                www.birretta.dehttps://www.facebook.com/birretta.bierbar/Image may contain: 9 people, people smiling
His partner, Martin and wife Carolyn I met today at the store and they invited me to see the new Birretta Beer bar. It is amazing seriously. It is 100% beer beer beer. From the bottle caps adorning every space in the place to the brand new custom bar that has real beer bottles unopened encased in hidden dark cave glass. "A architect took two months to totally redesign the bar and the space. It used to be a hungarian restaurant," says Katherine, who is a Reindenberger of the the famous family of beer. One of the 4 breweries that joined together to have taps at the bar. An additional 18 taps of craft beers are also available and change weekly. It is one of the most Gorgeous bars I have ever seen in my entire life. EVER. Image may contain: table and indoor
"Alright now I said that it is still fun," says Martin when I asked why he didn't have as much fun anymore now that they were distributing everywhere in Germany to other Craft Beer stores and Bars, "I said, I said that it is still fun?" he quips, "yet I am busier now! And the bar is where we can go and just drink. Us owners don't work at the bar, we only drink at the bar," he says and he and his wife, Carolyn, start laughing."Ask her what she does," Martin says and I ask Carolyn. "I am a educator and I work with handicapped children," she says. And when you're done with that stressful job you can come to the store and drink beer? I say and she laughs, "yes! And there is so many beers I don't think I could pick just one!" Martin says, "At some times we have 500 beers in here. At the Bar, which is located at Ostengasse 13, we have about 18 on tap and about 150 different selections.

“Here in Bavaria it is Unique I believe it is maybe the only Bavarian Bar and all of Germany where 4 individual breweries share taps with each other. It could be unique in all of Europe. Bavaria is known for the beer that owns the buildings. If you have a bar it usually belongs to a brewery and you must use that beer. We came up with the concept after the couple of years with the Craft Beer Festival that we organized and produced the last 3 years. We approached a couple of breweries that we ourselves respect and they said yes we would love to do it.” Says Martin. Let’s just say that the first thing you will notice about Martin is that he is a Type A personality. And he says, “Yes because I am a venture capitalist trader. Trading is very fast paced and it is stressful. That is where I make my foundation of money and beer has always been my hobby. Trust me if it is one thing you need to learn about German men is that they take their hobbies very seriously.” I start laughing at that. I am learning much about the German man! And woman. The women are cool because as we talk Martin’s wife starts taking the dolley and carrying tons of beer. I do that. I am a little person that usually does all the work myself and I smile when I think of the girls behind the Craft Beer Bars in America with their fluffy hair and nails and perfectly prepared makeup on being asked to bring kegs in from the distributor. WOULD THAT HAPPEN.

Germans? Different. Carolyn is a accomplished educator of handicapped children and looks very feminine, yet here she is carrying 4 stacks of beer cases in! last night as the Belgium distributor came in late!

“Here is the showroom. It is a retail store. Yes it is fun since it is about beer. Yet you will never make tons of money in retail beer stores. The bars and restaurants are different of course. Yet when you ask me about the beer bar I say we have to wait and see. It is very young. Only 3 weeks old. And yes a lot of people come to see it because it is new and different. It is a gorgeously designed bar. Outrageously expensive. Did I lose sleep when it is being designed? Let’s just say I sleep well now. And it does have 18 beers on tap. That is unique too. The people love to come in and feel comfortable in the cellar bar! They love beer and at the bar they are surrounded by beer. Ask me in 6 months if it is going to do well.”

I say that Rome has a concept bar such as his with about 50 beers on tap, all Craft Beers and just as many bar stools and you can never get a seat. “The concept is cool because you can come in a drink beer on tap and have about 5 different beers and settle for the favorites when you drink number 6 or 7.” Martin says, seriously. I start hesitating. Um…6 or 7? Okay that is definitely a Bavarian Beer thing to. In America you go to the sports bar on Monday night for Football and have a couple of pitchers of Miller or Bud with a table of 5 friends. Maybe the guys have 4 beers tops. The girls one or two. Yet here in Bavaria it is like give me another 6th beer! Ae here is strong!

“The reason I do think the bar will do great is the people. The team is great. The bartenders are wonderful and they either know tons about the beers or are very enthusiastic to learn. That is most important. And our team of breweries are the best. They’re the nicest people and they really like us which, honestly, is the most important. We have Eichhofener, Riedenburger, Nittenauer, and Spital which is the Regensburg brewery. You met Katherine Riedenburger?” Martin asks. And I say yes that I had gone in and had a chat with Katherine. Who I loved. She told me that the pizza and the bread at the Bar is made with, of course, Beer! The entire place is bottle caps and beer! Have to see it.

Image may contain: one or more people, people sitting and indoorAnd I wouldn't really say that we have competition in Regensburg. We're the only craft beer store and the closest is Nuremberg with the Die Bierothek's. Yet their's aren't cozy or comfortable feeling inside. They're like rigid and franchising and they don't have a special feeling to the stores. Here people come because they can feel special and comfortable." he says. "The bar is amazing. Wait til you see it, it is really gorgeous." And of course I run to see the bar.

Comfy Funnky, Trendy, Hotel Luis and Eating Lounge...Call ahead for your next day breakfast and come eat in the newly revamped dining space. Read a novel, O what the heck write a novel and get to know your fellow neighbors and tourists that visit Regensburg.   Hotel Luis  At least that is my interpretation, however, once I talk to Leo he has a totally different idea of his hotel! "It is Vintage. I wanted to build a hotel that is a boutique vintage hotel and something totally special to Regensburg. Me and my partner, George, we went to the south of Germany and met Luis, which is the name of the hotel and he is the reason we named it that. Luis is a carpenter and he has about 5 to 6 warehouses that are full of old repaired wooden furniture. And it took us forever to walk through each warehouse and find the right items. We built the entire hotel around his furniture and that theme. He collects from Germany and Austria, Italy and Greece, Switzerland and France. Wherever he finds a real authentic piece of furniture and repairs it." says Leo   "The rooms we did floor by floor, the lst floor was ready in September, the next month the 2nd floor, til December we finally had the entire hotel finished. We're just getting ready with the bar in the two quiet months of Regensburg, which is January and February. It is the calm time. We only do breakfast in the mornings and the bar at night and the day. And of course students and tourists can come. It is open to the public. We would like to offer the hotel guests little tapas at night with drinks. Something to think about and we have events and live music planned a couple times a month. I am learning as we progress." he says.                                               Double Room Hotel Luis Regensburg
The place used to be a real old and real traditional Bavarian Local Hangout with a Hotel/inn owned by a 3 Generation Family of Regensburg, now it is a new modern beautiful trendy place to come have a drink and chat with young intellectuals. It has a revamped vintage look to the  hotel that just opened in December and a totally cool drinking and eating lounge with heavy brocade curtains and sofas and cool wooden tables. The walls are to die for! and with the funky handwritten tales on the chalkboards you'll feel totally comfy. The team is young and enthusiastic about life and the place they work and will fill your hour with funny stories. Cool place. Loved it

Yes of Course, Papa Geno´s, in Regensburg is beautiful. After it, is in the Danube, right? And the most beauty is the food that we eat. From chef or capo, Stefan and Tobias is the great restaurant. The capa and the chef is Stefan who made me some of his famous Tortellini stuffed with truffles and it is the first truffles that I ate. Ever. Yum. "We have a new restaurant that is opening after February is over. It is named UNIKAT and is the only restaurant physically in the middle of the univeristy. We hire some students and for the chefs and the cooks we must find others-educated qualified people for these positions." says Stefan. "We have found most and are training these here at the restaurant." I laugh when he says after hiring the students he must hire educated people! "Yes, you know since it is a Italian restaurant here when we hire people from Italy they come and rarely speak English or German. They learn and we learn from each other." he says. https://www.facebook.com/Das-Unikat-999289456860825/?fref=ts  is the facebook link for Unikat and is the facebook  link for Papa Geno's

I interviewed Stefan's partner two years ago and today Stefan. "My brother, Simon, helps me in the kitchen" says Stefan as I start to film the both of em. I am processing the little 3 minute video now! "Since I am a trained chef of the German system where I studied 3 years and apprenticed that long, I know how to cook all styles of food. I love the Italian food and the German's love the Italian food. When I hire the Italians it is a little funny and a little frustrating both since when a German says I am starting at 8:00am they truly mean 7:59am. When a Italian hears 8:00am they come in at 8:15am." he laughs and shakes his head. "Yes things like this we must get used to!" Mittelmeerkuche14, 93047 Regensburg, Tel. 0941 6308165

"Since the restaurant has outdoor seating next to the Danube people love to sit here in the summer  and of course in the winter they sit inside" says Stefan. "It's beautiful, it's cozy and good food and good wine."

"When  we don't know what to do we ask the Italians to call their Grandmas in Italy. We use the recipes from the Grandmas and everybody in Regensburg loves our Italian food." says Stefan.

"I love my team. I hired the team of cooks from the Pizza Guys which  come from Naples to the other cooks in the kitchen. They're a professional team and a fun team. Since I am the boss if I wanted to I could walk out of the kitchen and drink a glass of wine, yet I am a team player and so I don't do this!" he laughs.
I first met Stefan, the affable always smiling owner of Hempys about 3 years now. He is always happy. Always. Must be the business! "We moved into the new store about one year now," he says when I say WOW the store is AMAZING! "I added the Garden Center. The tents and the lighting for heat can be used to grow herbs and tomatoes and lettuce and vegetables all year round. If you love to cook and want your own fresh vegetables you should buy one of these tents." he says. "The cost is from 1,000.00euros for the complete package to 1,600.00 for the largest tent and it includes the vents for air and the heat lamps." I say that he should contact every chef cooking in famous Regensburg and have them buy tents for the guests that come and want to eat fresh everyday! "Stefan hired me because I studied agriculture for the last couple of years and I am a farmer hence the Garden Center in the Basement." laughs Mathew, the new assistant! Below is the famous Medusa 840.00euros Bong.  No automatic alt text available.
"You know it is funny when you ask Amsterdam people how much they smoke legal weed they say that they have never smoked it! Yet they say that the biggest customers are the Americans and the Germans. And I have to laugh. Now with America making the states legal to smoke hash they aren't going to Amsterdam any longer!" How true is that! "Here we have mostly young and students and of course we smile and love when the older people come in and buy bongs. Mostly they buy pipes. They love the pipes." says Stefan.

Stefan and Mathew standing near the most expensive item in the store above is the ShiShas..."Muslims love the ShiShas since they don't "smoke"" says Mathew. And the most expensive item is Medusa which is 840.00 Euros...little do they know that it is true when I turn around you freeze! Ha Ha Ha! at                 Hempys.I don't have this problemo anymore but yeah I've had those days at previous jobs:

Below is Stefan holding one of the prized Czech bongs! "Czech Republic makes these amazing bongs and the Americans make amazing pipes. One pipe is incredible and costs 1,000.00 euros that the Californian import guy brings in. I buy it! You know the movie stars can just slap down 1,000.00 euros no problem. The students have a little more difficult time! However we have 80 year old people that come in and we have students. I am sure at the exquisite handiwork of the Californian pipe that someone will snatch it up" says Stefan. If by the way you meet Stefan you will fall in love with his laughter. He is one of the happiest people I have ever met. Hmm...maybe it is because he owns a Hempy store! Image may contain: 1 person, standing, drink and indoor

Merlin the magician has struck again with MARPLE AND STRINGER, "I owned the amazing bar near the Classic Theater named Gloria about 8 years now, it is named, http://www.freiraum-regensburg.de/, Freiraum. And I noticed around Regensberg that they didn't have a UK or a American Bar and Restaruant. I thought, that is a classic style and real good food and the people of Regensburg would love it. I found the location and after one month opened it. I must say that I inspired the entire place. I did the design and the walls and the bar. All of it. I didn't use a architect and I didn't  use a interior designer. I bought most on Ebay. It is possible to create oneself." says Merlin. He truly is a creative genius magician. Marple and Stringer is located at:     Bismarckplatz 4

"I have never been to America, yet I would love to see America." says Merlin. "I have been to London and took much of my inspiration in designing the bar from London. I found the interior designers boring! And I wanted a place that the residents and the tourists and the students could come in and feel comfortable. Here in front of the bar is a intellectual corner with the leather settee for a image of a smoking jacket. And behind is 8 seats of real theater chairs and a table that took a long time to make, piece by piece. And the lamps? On Ebay. The walls I painted and designed all myself." he says. I am MOST IMPRESSED. It is GORGEOUS.

"I admire and took my inspiration from the Television Star Ms. Marple and her companion Mr. Stringer." says Merlin. I know it is such a cool name that I interrupt him many times to say that I love that name! "It is both a blessing and a curse since when growing up and introducing myself to girls at a bar they would say WHAT! a Name! and now I love my name!" he says.

Andreas owns Wurstkuchl and he says, "Yes I love the tourists but I wish we had less in the summer and more in winter... They come on the boats especially the Americans and they love to see the city. They always buy the mustard and take it home. Nowadays people are much more conscious about the choices in the food that they eat. I am looking for a new pig farmer to do new sausages. I only want natural fed pigs and pigs that are treated right. That way I have wonderful food with a pig that had a good life,"

He paints satirical religious art and a bohemian art style. They poke fun at the catholic church...not that priests aren´t human it is just hypocritical the portraits. We see the Italians have fancy booths and the french and the spanish but the Germans have this little box booth. It is funny since the Germans are all prim and proper. I give free mustard away at my booth but people complain because there was one booth a chocolate booth and they only had pictures... they should of had real things to show such as the mustard. Not chocolate? Only pictures. But the Americans enjoy the mustard and I bring it each year. I can only stay 3 or 4 days.  They have my mustard on the www.mygermancandy.com online and somewhere in San Francisco but I don´t know where. You can order my sausages and sauerkraut online and I ship it to America or whereever. It is in tins though so it is not so good." Says Andrea as he asks if I would love to taste the food at the famous Bavarian kitchen. Of course I say and they have great homemade cheesecake too. Yum.

"Would you love to help us make Sauerkraut?" Asks Andreas today when he is eating lunch with his mother and I say hi. And of course I would love to help make Sauerkraut. How do I do that? I ask. "Alright. Come here on Thursday morning. What is your shoe size?" he asks. Um. 39 in German and 8 in America I say. "Alright I must buy Sauerkraut shoes to have you jump in the barrels and you squish the cabbage with the shoes for one hour." He says. Alright that sounds like fun! I guess it is like the French squishing grapes! yet it is German and I am to make sauerkraut. NOW THAT IS TOTALLY COOL! I say.

Crazy. On Thursdays it is Crazy since we had a live band and plan on having Thursday nights always live bands. The people love to dance on Thursdays and we had a group called Country DUDES came and played swear to God! That is the name. The Band Partner is named Thom, he is the 4th guy. The other 3 partner's would be me and Sasha and Mickey. We never know who Tom has gotten for the band and it is a surprise for me too!                Love Love Love

since 2000 year I have been playing games in Regensburg...

"I have owned the Games Store here since year 2000, Games much long" says the Young Kid who owns the store. Okay not so young..."30s" laughing "40s?" laughing..."come on Saturday and see the tournament of cards here at the store 5 hrs. and the ages are from 12 to 65. Everybody plays games. All ages!" he says. Pictured is "a guest". Who says, "I only come to play. The boss says take everybody else's pictures!"       It is located at:

Weissgerbergraben 10
and still room foom for players
at

Telefonnummer0941 59937214    We start talking about politics and Donald Trump and CNN and the reporters. "He would not yell and tell anyone to leave a tournament except maybe on Sunday and in private he might!" When I ask if he would ever yell at a player in front of a group of players. "On Sundays we play with invited guests and if someone we didn't like maybe he would close the door! Although Donald Trump is building car business in America!" We all agree. Yes that is about all we talk about during our interviews!

I love bicycles, I´ve always loved bicycles, especially when Albert rides bicycles- and I love the people that own these cool physical stores. They´re alway´s happy. They´re surrounded every day with totally cool and the latest tech fashion and colors of the coolest bikes. And the store of Feine-raeder is a totally exceptional beautifully designed store. "It has been 22 years and I love my life. I love the bikes and I love the people that come here and try the bike and take it around the city and they come back and say thankyou very much for helping me with my bike. It is my love and my life." says the real physical owner of Feine-Raeder, Claus. Yes Santa Claus!                                                                                 Feine Räder - Logo

The coolest thing about the electric mom mobile as I tend to name it is that you can carry your children and do super mercato shopping without too much effort. It ranges from about 5,700.euros and although I asked if it could come in my favorite color pink, the owner said he has green, blue, white and black. Alright you can always custom order!

"And we have 24 hr. repair, too, which is important for everybody yet especially the students. You know everyone of these students could afford my bikes. Do you know how much they spend on Beer?!" he says. And that is true...a good backpack at the store is saw 49.00 euors ot 139.00 euros. The bike is 799.00 and last 6 to 10 years." the owner says. I say that if they drink Radlers instead of beer they can spend 1/2 that amount to the bikes!  helme2

                           http://www.feine-raeder.de/Aktuelles

        Above the cool owner Claus:)

"The students can come in here and if they spend 6 months or 3 years at Regensburg they can bike the 15 kilometer city every day. A bike if perfect for the city. Me? I ride my electric bike about 22 kilometers everyday back and forth to work. Yet the students love to do the fitness test. They come in and spend between 799.00 for a real good bike to 3,799.00 for the best bike.  And of course I don´t have any problem if they come in and spend 10,000.00 euros on the 5 kilo. carbon bike either...that is alright with me!" he jokes.

"The electric bikes is a odd perception. People think it is a motor scooter and you can just sit there, but you have to pedal it. Of course the little battery does all the work, but it helps to power and support the bike when you pedal." Now that is a new info for me!

Feine-Rader´s owner is Claus as in Santa Claus and is pictured above riding the mountain bike. You couldn´t meet a more genuine and nice person seriously.  And he LOVES biking. "I love the biking world and I use my Sundays and Mondays to have fun. My fun is biking!" he laughs all the time and loves his guests. The store is a architectural wonder!  "Yes we had a architect design it. The cool thing is that I almost 100% carry German Bikes. From the Specialized to the Stevens to the Reise-Muller they´re the best and when I need help from Hamburg they can help me that day. If I order parts from America it takes forever" he says.

Image may contain: 2 people, people sitting, drink, table and indoorJoin the Friendly fun loving 20 years Veteran! Thomas of Oma Plusch at his new Beer Garden on the Danube...right at the foot appropriately of the famous LOVE LOCK BRIDGE in Regensburg...The team is CRAZY FUN, the BEER is BISCHOFSHOFs and the MUSIC IS LIVE on the RIVER... I as I say  many times and most fond of the Oma Plusch team especially Oma who we now tease that is his name. "You know a funny story is that the other day I received a letter addressed to me saying Dear Mr. Omar Plusch." Did you think of me? I ask. He laughs. "Some people do think that is my name. Once upon a time there was 3 young kids and 40 years since they formed Oma Plusch and that is one of the names perhaps. I am kidding. It is a story." he says. As you can see he has gotten his hair cut. "It is 22 and 1/2 years now since I owned the Oma Plusch. Here the beer garden is my first and in the summer absolutely wonderful. Amazing. My first ever. The only thing is that the older people have a difficult time in the winter crossing the bridge. In the summer they come to do 3 things, drink beer, eat bavarian food and blah blah blah." he says.

"My name is Moritz and I´ve worked with Oma Plusch, Tomas, since about 4 years as a drinking visitor and 1 year as a team member,"says Moritz...he is the tall one with the glasses above:)..."he is the nicest person ever." he says. i say that yes he is since the first person ever to help an independant writer(me) when I came to Regensburg is Mr. Tomas. The nicest person ever. "The beer is different since now after 20 years we have a new beer. It´s name is Bischofshofs and Weltenburger. That is the main difference and now we have a big Beer garden that holds 300 people, we are introducing big outdoor screens that will showcase the European Soccer Championships and live Bavarian Music." he says. Anything else? "Yes a couple of new items on the menus since Max, the youngest chef in Regensburg at the age of 21 has added some tasty items. The one that is the favorite for us is his big Pork...we love it. " Robert, who has been here one month, "That is my favorite too...it is salty and a huge block of pork." Is it that real big pig? I ask. "No but I have cooked that whole pig for 20 people or more. As a matter of fact, when the groups eat it they´re real drunk and they attack the pig and tear it apart." says the young chef Max. REALLY? I ask. They all laugh. "Of course not! It is Bavaria. We have eaten with forks and knifes at least the last 10 years. Seriously. When we order the entire pig we eat with plates...but it is a tender pig and if you were at Medieval fair they would use their hands and shove it in their mouths!" he says.Image may contain: one or more people, people sitting and indoor

"We have birthday parties for the little kids...say 6 of em about 110E and 12 of em about 189E. It´s totally crazy in here at birthday parties. They´re so excited and they have about 1-1/2 hrs of climbing. As early as say 5 years old." says Sebastian one of the owners of the Climbing Center. He demonstrates the little kids climbing techniques!
University students will love the place. For 8.90E they can climb all day! And it is open til 11pm every night. Although they do have alcohol at the cafe/bar and the height is max 4 meters please drink after the climb!
Sebastian says, "We made the first one in 2012 and it is the biggest in the world. We modeled the climbing system from the Fountain Bleu region in France that color coded the wall grades. Everybody else in the world had used the international system of numbers and we do colors."
He says,"It is cool becasue my girlfriend who started climbing only one year is a yellow climber which is the easy ones and I do the most difficult yet since the colors are right near one another we can climb together and both be challenged." I asked him if it is similiar to riding steeplechase horses and one jumps little jumps and one jumps high jumps?
And of course for the real tired climbers you can buy cocaine at 5.50E   too from China! Just kidding...it is a funny powder to help sweaty climbers climb!
Right next to the Langnese Ice Cream!  CLIMBING POWDER

Sebastian laughs, "Yes my girlfriend rides the horses and when she asks me to ride with her I am sitting on top of that big horse and I just sit there froze! Horses are big! And she says just make it go and I say Make it GO! How am I supposed to do that?" It is funny to imagine that Sebastian scales mountains and yet he says that riding a horse is big! And the Little Trainees taking a look!
You can find the Antico Mola at
                                                      Uhlandstraße 19, 93049 Regensburg
                                                                  Telefon:0941 64095360
On bus #1 Prufering to Goethestraße. Jump off and walk straight take the first right and walk 2 block. Then, now on the left side of Uhlandstraße is the restaurant.
"The most important thing for me everyday is that my guests feel like they are at home. When we invite guests to the home I want my guests at the restaurant to feel that way.Every night when everybody is at home and in bed he is on his computer! He writes the menu everynight. He does specials everyday and every item is kept in his memory...that is him" says Nicola and his Bosnian wife Doaeana. I say that at a bar called Palleti in the central city they have a picture on the wall that reminds me of the couple! They laugh and say they know it! Maria says that she "doesn´t like fish personally. I love his pizzas! All of my friends say the pizza is best in Regensburg." I somehow believe that since every dish that comes from the kitchen looks scrumptious. A fellow eating it keeps saying,"hmm, yum, hum..." at the near table and I figure it must be pretty good. "Yes and they love the fresh shark we buy from the Mercato, Metro, everyday. We see that the Germans love the Italian food. The tourists do find us, especially the Americans and the Chinese find us. Every Trip Advisor comment that they write is wonderful about us.We love when the people take the time to write about the restaurant. That is important for us that each person loves it here." they say.https://www.facebook.com/antica.mola1
"everybody that works at the restaurant is family! The nephew is the other cook!, the father is cook, the mother is service, and I bring drinks to the tables and hostess," says the daughter. "My father laughs since all the guests when they come here must kiss my mother!"
The daughter, Maria, translates for her father and mother. Her father is from Italy, Bari, and her mother is from Bosnia. "We met at La Gondola about 30 years now. In 2007 we opened the Antica Mola and we love the people that come here. That is most important, the guests. My wife greets the guests everyday and I cook."
slide4
"Yes the tourists kiss my mother too!" says Maria. "My father comes to each table and asks how the food is. He says that every plate that he makes he is alittle nervous although he has been a cook many years he says that each plate is new for him. He has 1,000 recipes and they´re all in his head. Every recipe is his." says Maria. The mother constantly and graciously asks me each time she passes the table if I would love to try the food. Honestly it "looks wonderful." she says! I say that I would love to try the shark!

I honestly can say that one of the places that I always loved to eat at is the Kruetzers restaurant. Since I came to Regensburg I thought it such a lovely elegant upscale steak restaurant. If somebody (or me) doesn't recommend it you will never find it since it is hidden down near the river away from the center of the city, yet as with all finest treasures, once you do find it you will keep coming back to it. "The reason that I approached Nicholas and Mattias at the Kruetzer's restaurant is since I ate here 3 days per week. Seriously. I loved the meat and loved the restaurant. I thought...hmm I bet they have great connections to great meat around Germany and maybe we could deliver fresh everyday with the partnership of Kruetzer's. And when I approached my partners they said yes!" Manuel says. That is 2 years ago and today and the last couple of days I have had the interesting privelege of meeting Nicholas! http://www.kreutzers.eu  "Yes we do serve all of Germany with Fresh meat delivery and Czech Republic and now we are doing Switzerland. The problem is that the meat we deliver is fresh and can't fly say to America!" he says. "The meat at Kruetzer's is from everywhere in the world the best meat it is raced." he says. I say you mean raised to be the best and he google translates(which is always more fun than the actual interviews) and he says it is "raced" and I say he prefers the cow that runs really fast? "No" he says. "It means it is the best quality." I think he means raised right and therefore the best. Okay I guess go to Kruetzer's and eat and see which one you like the best! Located at: Prinz-Ludwig-Strasse 15...Reservations call: 09 41 5 69 56 50 20.

Nicholas is the owner of a couple of cool places, one the Mercato that houses the Wein and Mehr that is where I met him and of course drank wine, and the Kruetzer's restaurant and the Kruetzer's meat delivery everywhere in Germany, Prague and now Switzerland. https://www.wein-und-mehr.de/

Dachauplatz

"Actually it is a silly story, I started about maybe 20 years now and started the wine business..." try to pin him down on the details and he is very humble and vague, "O you know I started in wine and about maybe I guess 6 years now I opened the Market here. It used  to be a parking a garage and the ground level is empty and I said alright let's put a gourmet food and wine market in and lease to merchants and that is the busy markets you see today. Actually it is the biggest square meters of food suppliers in  Regensburg and that I am proud of." If you want to know how to be a young successful entreprenuer you shall have to come to Regensburg and drink his great wine, chat with a lively political conversation of ALL of the movers and shakers in Regensburg including the Princesses and Princes of Thurn and Taxis and the Burgermeisters and the owners of Mulbacher's Jewerly since they all congregate here at the wooden tables to chat with Nicholas or eat his food and drink his wine!  The ladys dig wine so I 'm getting meself some wine...#vino!:

Regensburg, home to the famous Thurn und Taxis family of such nobility that they were the Post Office system of the Roman Empire...Prince Albert 12th´s title today is Post Master General...now that is a cool title! The most significant historical achievement of the Thurn und Taxis family is the organization of the imperial postal system of the Roman Empire and in 1615 all hereditary rights to the male heir of the Thurn und Taxis,

which as of today is Albert.

Bildergebnis für thurn und taxis the royal family

Below is the 2nd most famous Christkindle Mercatos in Spital Beer Gardens Germany, the first is Thurn und Taxis lovely castle...when I ask her if it is crazy her first hosts of the Christkindle? "It is my 2nd and yes it is crazy and wild and fun...I am the one who organized the entire event and we were so busy." When I say O you bought the sheep! Mrs. Sperger laughs! "Ahh not the sheep!" she says with a panicked look on her face! O dear? The sheep were troublesome? "A lot of people come to see the sheep!" she says. And to drink the great beer I say. "Yes I love the people and I love to talk to everybody and they love to drink beer. I personally don't drink beer!" she admits. WHAT! A beer garden owner who doesn't drink beer! I never heard of such! "Yes I am unusual. I do drink a Radler once in a while." she says.  "The Germans love the outside. They come here and when it is sun outside they sit outside and drink beer along the river. They bundle up and they drink hot glub wine. We're used to the cold weather. And we love being outside." she says.
"Yes, I am a Regensburger," says the adorable young wife,Cornelia Sperger, who owns SpitalGarten along with her husband Anton.,"When I am a young girl I came to eat at Spital and I never said to myself O I am going to be so rich as to buy such a famous place. One day I brought my husband here and he says, "I am going to buy it. I love it." And my eyes got real wide! I couldn't believe he is going to buy it!" she laughs, her eyes wide. I say that yes I am that way with the Virginia Pilot Newspaper's Military Newspapers that I worked in Virginia with. I say One day I am going to own the paper. And? O Alright I own Emmeanesbook. However, dreams do come true and here we sit talking about the HUGE SPITAL with 800 guests everyday in the summer! When I hear 800 guests I am overwhelmed! "O I am used to it as me and Anton owned the Beer Gardens in Thalmassing many years. Here the only item that I stressed at is the kitchen!" Cornelia says. "We must have a MUCH bigger kitchen. And we started renovations which in a couple of months is ready. We are redoing the Inn of 13 rooms too which is ready in one year. Now the traditional menu is small since we can not do deep frying and such until the new kitchen is finished in time for the huge people in the summer. Want to see the mess!" she jokes and leads to where people are remaking the kitchen!

"Yes I am Bavarian and they love the white sausages which of course we have, yet I personally don't like them. I am lucky to own SpitalGarten. It is famous in Regensburg and many people love the beer. I love my job and I love the people. And yes since you ask if I want I can come here at 3:00am and eat anything I want and drink a beer or a Radler and for the last 12 years owning a beer garden I have free food and beer!" she laughs hysterically. "And I guess if you drink too much and you have a Inn you can sleep in the Inn!" she says. The question I asked is if the coolest thing about owning a beer garden is if you can eat and drink as much beer free everyday that you want! "most people are nice okay sometimes they shout yet they're usually nice!" she laughs. Below is a Bavarian version of pizza, "It is think and tasty and it is named Spital-Flammkuchen. And yes all the Regensburgers know it." She says when I say yum that looks lovely."Yes the young people love it. And I love the young people." she says.

And speaking of lovely...how is the love story of Anton and Cornelia? "O my bestfriend and Anton's brother were in love and I always tagged along. One day to get rid of me his brother said let me present Anton to you on your birthday as a birthday present! And we fell in love and married and now here we are!
She says. I guess she won. "And we love Americans and America and last year when you met us a couple of months later our daughter says, " I want to study highschool in America. Now she is in North Carolina with a host family and we skype everyday. She loves America!" Cool.

                      Below:   GRAVENREUTHER Bavarian Restaurant

                                            at Hinter der Grieb 10, 094 15 5050

You´ll love the young fresh style and attitude of the owners and team at the Gravenreuther...above pictured drinking a beer is Michael. "I want my team to have a good time and the guests, too. You should really decide what you want about the restaurant. Yet I don´t hire the traditional stocky stern German woman who comes to the table and when you ask for a little beer late at night they say...WAIT TIL YOU FINISH WHAT YOU HAVE!...You know. We have a young staff that only wears traditional dirndls on Sundays. They smile and laugh with the guests. We have something that is special to the Bavarian Restaurants in Regensburg...the food is of the highest quality and it is a little tiny bit more expensive than others...plus we have the famous Bavarian Tapas. I worked at one of the most famous Barcelona Restaurants 3 years...great fish etc. and of course the tapas. When I came back to Bavaria I really wanted to introduce Tapas my style...Bavarian Style...and I have. 8 different tapás from The torpedo prawns to the white fish that you are having now!" says Michael.            http://www.gravenreuther.de/

"The thing that I am most proud of is my new store that has only been here 3 years. It is beautiful." the owner of the Muhlbacher store in Regensburg says...in addition to the Rolex´s and Cartier they have their own signature designs. "When you´re surrounded by jewels all the time you still see the fascination. When I travel to Antwerp where everybody in the world shows the diamonds and the precious jewels I am always fascinated with these. I love the highest quality because of the brilliance of the cuts. The ones that range from 1million euros to 10 million euros of course we purchase only if a special client orders it but it is fascinating to see these. Every day that I see the jewels I love my job! It is the best. I am the 4th generation of the family to enter into the jewelry business. And the aspect that I enjoy the most is when I deal with the public.     http://www.muehlbacher.de/ Ludwigstraße 1

"I am happy with the clients since they´re always happy of course when they come in to receive that special gift. Of course there is that person who was away and they bring the jewel in to return it and a couple of days later they want it back and I try to help as much as I can." He laughs. "Most of the time it is fun. The one thing that I learned never to ask is O Who is that gift for...I learned it is none of my business!" he laughs again and I say hmm.

The store is gorgeous as is prestigious jewelry stores around the world and Mr. And Mrs. Muhlbacher are precious. "I love the rose gold which is my favorite, " she says shyly...a beautiful woman all decked out in jewels as I would if my husband owned a jewelry store I say! She laughs and shows me the diamond tennis bracelets she wears. As for him? "I only wear a watch!" he admits. WHAT! I say in that cool store with so much eye-candy? "Us Germans we´re conservative. Once I wear these..." and he points to cufflinks...Diamond ones I hope? "They´re nice ones." is all he will say. Wow dress up time?

"Yes that is a actual whole pig...the tourists love it...it feeds about 20 people and we mostly serve it for groups. You know 5 people could have a difficult time eating this pig!" jokes the young fun owner of the Traditional Bavarian Restaurant with a twist on the famous Hinter der Grieb alley...named Gravenreuther..."For the famous family who owned the entire street in the 1800s. They had a castle and stores here and later they split the stores to famous restaurants such as ours." says Michael Schulz. (The alley has the famous Kasper5, Vitus which is now Amore Vino and Amici and my friends that own the South African Cape Grape wine store...right around the corner from the Orphee...)

"We have a huge beer glass that holds 3 liters. Mostly stag parties or groups of girls will order that one...and it is relatively inexpensive. The one tradition with it is the table drinks one sip and the next person drinks one sip and the second to last person to finish it must pay for it...and of course some people drink or try to drink one liter of the 3 liters so that the person before them must pay...OOPS the problem is if the person doesn´t finish that one liter in one sip! Woops and the next person finishes it...Guess who pays! Some of the older traditional Bavarians and Germans come in and say we don´t want that tapa stuff...give us the white sausages etc and of course we have the high quality white sausages and Bavarian kitchen for these folks! And the beer garden...that is important too." He lets me try the white sausages tapas which by the way are only 2.70E each and it is a little meal...and yummy! I´ve had the soups a couple of em and the schnitzel here all very good...and his partner Rainer owns the dance club Zarap Zap Zap..."which is a late night dance pub and has Rock and Roll and people from 30 to 50s...fun people that love good music but not techno stuff...come try that too!" he says. http://www.zarapzapzap.de/

Of all the winter sports I´ve always thought snowboarding is the coolest and the one I would love to learn. When the pros go flipping up in the air and they swoosh through the powder it seems like so much fun. Meet the owners of the Adrenalin in Regensburg. The father Gosi and daughter 26, and son team all run the snowboard school and stores. The snowboard school is located in the Bavarian Forest and has 20 instructors! Cool. 24 to 25 years at the big store and he opened his first store 30 years ago.

                  Check out of the goggles:)

"You can come at 8am on Saturday and Sunday and we take a bus with people to the snowboarding school. It is a 2 day lesson and it is about 50Euros. That is it! It is really inexpensive. The snowboards and equipment all day to rent is only 23Euros and Maybe it is too cheap. We should make it more!" she says."Every Saturday and Sunday you can come and snowboard and do the lessons or snowboard down the mountains. It is up to you."  Pictured below the snowboarders having fun. "You can learn to snowboard in one day,"she says. Her father says, "Yes it is easier to learn to snowboarding yet it is harder to master the snowboard once you learn it."

Gosi says, "It is my life. Snowboarding. I had the store a little one before my daughter Anja was born! It is my love. My hobby. I do it for fun." And when I ask his daughter to translate and ask her father the coolest thing about being the boss? He says, "A Holiday." really! All the snowboarders say they would love to work at the store it is so cool! "my brother goes every weekend to Austria and his favorite place to snowboard is Alpbachtal!" and her favorite?"I love to do powder and I´ve been to Norway already which is cool. My    father´s favorite is Kashmir In India. He and my brother do the Fun Parks while I do the powder. That is more fun for me. Since I am born I´ve been snowboarding it seems." she says.

Nadine says, "If somebody comes in and asks if I can help find a handpicked wine I can of course.  I know the winerys that select these grapes for there and these grapes for there and they´re different you know? I have tasted every wine in the store. You have to. You need to know each one. I now have people that come in and bring cheese and bread and buy a bottle of wine and sit and chat. Soon I am having my own vegatables and cheese and at that point I ask if they can eat my food! and a bottle of wine and sit and chat!"
Under the auspices of Italian Restaurants Ciao and the famous Spital Brewery on one side of the Stone Bridge is a little eclectic New York City Village wine boutique. Nadine says, "It is my little store and I am totally happz with it. I worked at the Orphee in the Restaurant and a import wine business a couple of years and finally bought the one here. And yes it is fun to buy wines and to let the customers taste them and see if they enjoy these or not."

Caroline comes from Austria, "From Salzburg actually, " she says in her wonderful voice, "most of the products come from Austria whether Innsbruck or northern Austria. The chocolates come from Tiroler."  I try the chocolates and they´re very good. Yum . "I started cooking here about 3 years now. Everyday it is a main dish and soup and everyday it´s different. I make all of my lunches homemade. And of course the apple strudel."
Seriously is that a cool kitchen or what!

It is as  American´s picture the country of Austria....(yes we´re that country of stereotypes) we imagine the funky chalet authentic kitchens of Austria to look like. It is all homey and woodsy and is that country feeling to it. I love the homemade packaged little pestos and the real kitchen to the left where you can see the owner, Caroline, cooking every lunch. "Yes it is almost a real Austrian kitchen. In Austria the kitchen would have more wood in it but here I must use it for praticality and it is a little more modern." When I excitedly ask if I can take a picture of the kitchen and if it is a real one?  Since I love Witches her store´s name  translates to Witchcraft! "We have oils and wines and even soaps...milk soaps from upper austria. And yes that is GIN! What is that little berry that it is made from?" She asks ME! Do I look like I drink Gin? As a matter of fact...yes I do and hmm the berry? I need to Google it.

y because we´re different.!"

eas around and My Muesli you know that Granola stuff?
If you want to drink and eat healthy you can do that too in the store! And her cosmetics are either vegan and/or vegetarian friendly.
"I started the store about 5 years now. My clothes have no harmful how does someone say that is biological safe colors?" she charmingly asks and I say that is called dye in English...? "Yes" she says, "the colors in the clothes are safe and all of the products that we carry including the makeup is free of any and all animal testing. We don´t promote animal testing." She says. Being a person that has almost 11 dogs(give and take a couple) and 5 cats? "in the summer it is more cats" she laughingly admits. She and trys to find everyday homes for dogs and cats and she is personally aware of any and all testing. Here is her personal email in addition to visiting her store if you would love to adopt       micha@ludwig3.de
And the coolest? Okay yes expensive however the frietag bags about 380E each are unique and exclusive one of a kind made and a lesson to me...frietag is made from truck panels! Um okay... two brothers! started the company 15 years ago. And now? cool...
ttp://www.paramentum.de/index.php  The store is Gorgeous store. Benedict Wunschel is the owner of the religious store and has owned it 2-1/2 years. He is funny. "Are priests always nice? Hmm...lets see. Yeees and hmm let´s say if I have robes or casels and the older priests only want the old traditional ones and they say o that one is too modern. They want the ones they want. You know." he says diplomatically.                 I think ya they´re human."The one to the right is from the 18th century. It is very old. The person who owned it came and asked if we could take care of it. If somebody wants to come in and buy it and everything in the store that is fine."
The store has the most beautiful items in it. The goblets are amazing and range from about 300E to 6,835E. Yes each. Cool "You know if you´re friend is a priest you can come in here and buy him a gift!" he says. Yet I think...hmm maybe that goblet I can by for me instead of a priest! Wine anyone?

"You know the Vatican and Catholic church has allocated more churches to less priests. It used to have 15 priests and 15 churches yet nowadays that is changed. We have less priests that come in here. Here is my favorite, " says Benedict. "It is a handmade one that we do upstairs in the sewinng room. We do our own embroidery there." When I ask the price and it is 4,500Euros. I start laughing. Okay I say that is why the Vatican can only afford one priest for 5 churches. He laughs, "Maybe. Seriously though most, to be honest , the priests purchase the 650E Casels. However sometimes for marrying and special occaisions they purchase these. The one I have is my favorite though."

Bar 13 is a drinking bar. And , "On Monday nights we´re famous because we´re the only bar in Regensburg that has Karaoke during the week the others have it maybe a couple on the week-ends. It is twice as many people in here on Monday nights. I think we have the best Karaoke since that is my specialty the last 5 years. I went all around Bavaria in the 100 mile radius and had Karaoke gigs. It is a fun group of people a different group of people that do Karaoke...that is all I can say" the affable owner says. He has had the bar 11 years now. https://www.facebook.com/Bar13.de
A new brewery just bought the building that the bar is housed in and he had a couple of unsure moments, "there was a few weeks that I didn´t know where I would be and if the bar I would be able to keep it or not. But I negotiated a long contract with the brewery and now I am secure for     10 years. That makes me happy. I had an emergency situation where I thought maybe I can go to America and Florida and become a helicopter pilot if the bar doesn´t work out. I always wanted to do that. And now I kept the bar. Maybe somewhere in the future I would love to own a bar with a location of live music. Right now we can do Karaoke and DJ yet it would be nice to own a bar with a stage." He says about the new ownership of the building that houses the bar. The brewery is named Kuchlbauer. "The beer is okay and the guests like it. In the end beer is beer. It´s  not the best beer in my opinion such as Augustiner but it´s not the worst beer. As long as they own the building I have to use the Kuchlbauer beer. And it is expensive that is the bad side to it."                                                                                                        "My guests range from say 17 to 35 and every semester I have the new college kids. They like to watch the games on the sports tvs and to play fussball and just have fun. I am getting to old to go out every night with my team though! Now I like to hang out at home on the couch with my two cats, " he says. And how do new people know about his bar? except my website of course? "Every semester I do about 3,000 little presents of key chains maybe and flyers on the bar. I hope they remember me and come and have a good time." I ask if he makes his team stay on Sunday at 10:00am and wrap all the little presents? He laughs.".I used to when we opened the bar and now I have a company help me." It´s good to be the boss!

Here is the owners of the cool bookstore. Meet Ulrich Dombrowsky who along with his wife Daniela own Dombrowsky´s Bookstore Regensburg. The store won the award for the Best Book Store in Germany in 2014...Wow seriously that is incredible.
"Yes it is the award for an overall bookstore. For Everything. The atmosphere, the book readings, the children´s sections and my new idea the we say "Teenys" section." he says as he shows me the Blues Brothers posters on the wall and a little room just for the teeanagers. "They don´t want to be children and they don´t want to read adult books. They want their own section." Mr. Dombrowsky says. It is funny the little section where the teenys can sit and chat and talk about books that they love! The first of its kind "And we have about 25 to 31 guest authors every year that come and talk about their books. I choose the authors based on what I love to read. We work every year along with 8 bookstores in Germany and Austria and Switzerland to publish our own book named plus 5 which includes the best books of the year and why we included these books." He says. That is pretty cool too...here is the website to see...
http://www.dombrolit.de/

"The bookstore is my love and my how do U say? My passion. I love books." he says. When I ask if he writes books himself he emphatically says, "ME? Write books!? Ah NO! I only sell books and I read books." The specialty of his store is children and adult fiction. And in addition to the books and the readings they have concerts and discussions here every year. It is a funny funky bookstore that has that cozy feeling to it. Hope you love it and the best is the online store if you´re out of town-buy these books!

Above the "teenys section"where Mr. Dombrowsky says "you have to know, you have to know teenys." And I guess he means that teenagers are teenagers and they want their own life... Below the children´s section of which all the little children everytime that I´ve been in the store run and grab books from! It is funny.
Below is one of the coffee roasters and to the right is the little tiny countries where they come from...in the middle is my favorite Ethiopia and it is the best coffee anywhere it almost tastes the way brewed tea tastes. http://www.rehorik.de/ is a family business. The son Heiko says, "I love to visit the tiny plantations that grow coffee...they have a richness of life which is in nature. Their plantations are sometimes in dangerous countries such as Honduras where it is unsafe to travel after 6pm. The guide told me if I wanted to come with him that is fine but after 6pm I am on my own since it is dangerous. We had a police escort behind us. The beans are the best but it is dangerous. And when I find the little plantations in say Ecuador or in Panama I try to stay with the families. They´re very nice and they drive me everywhere. They say o I want to come to university at Germany and I say o I want to come to live in Panama. I guess everybody wants something that is different than they have. Where they live it isn´t the the richness such as mansions yet it is a richness of life." Wow As you can see from the picture of a little daughter of a plantation owner pictured here with Heiko! "She is a daughter of a tiny plantation owner and the tree is a tiny tree!"

Above a fellow American from San Francisco, "Yes I love Regensburg and I am learning a lot here...in a way it is a small city and everyday it is getting smaller!" He says when I ask if he feels at home here or misses America..."I miss my family and that is about it!" I think of the song at Walt Disney World..."It´s a small world after all!" I guess when you live in a city everybody knows everybody. "I was a barrister in San Francisco and when I came here I met Heiko and he invited me to join him. " he says.

 Am Brixener Hof 6    Tel +49 0941 51727

The smoothest coffee I ever tasted is here and it is given to me as a tea set almost. It is fltered at the table and it has a tea taste to it. Unique to Rehorik along with the 190° coffee that is made in the ancient coffee roaster that heats to 190°...unique to the world.
Heiko says, "I travel everywhere to find the small plantation owners. The year of 2015 I would love to see Peru. And later Bolivia but now only Peru. It is far to travel and I have so much to do here in the store. But that is what I most enjoy. To visit the people and to know the people. I hope when my guests come here that they experience that international flavor of the plantation owners." And I see that they do. That is life and it´s all about learning cultures (and beans!) around the world...

The owner is Alvin and he is hilariously cultured and sophisticated yet even those types clown around occaisionally as pictured above with his various poses..."My sister is Marketing and she does all of the Public Relations and Adverstiting Promotions to help me. Here is showing different styles!" It is adorable of course and I ask if I can show the pictures. Fun. Yet one of a kind.

        http://www.coloneum-antik.de/de/index.php
"The Biedermeier name is famous world-wide since it only made one piece of each of its designs...take the chairs it is maybe 6 chairs which is rare in a series that all go together yet each table such as the one pictured above is only one made in the entire world..."the cost of such a beauty? 12,000E...I would expect it too be much higher after all there is only one.
Watmarkt 3 Regensburg
Alvin shows me his favorite, the chairs and tables pictured above and I say that my favorite in the store is the red and black art deco chair and the matching vanity mirrored piece. "O these are the least expensive here...only 1,000E and 2,000E." he says...wow I say maybe after about 25 cities I can buy the chair! The furniture is beautiful and I ask if he has ever been to the World Famous South Beach Miami Art Deco Drive(the movie BirdCage was filmed in front of these beautiful buildings). He says that maybe he can visit Miami in the future and has a great American story for me. "Two people that came on the river boats on the Danube from New York walked into my store and fell in love with it. They bought 2 pieces and I sent them to America!" Wow. It is a small world.
The precious one of a kind chairs from Biedermeier and my favorite style of furniture the art deco piece pictured here is at the totally cool store named Coloneum in Regensburg. I´ve been trying to add these cool people almost 2 years and finally :)

Um how do I explain Astrid and her husband, Stefan and his brother Hermann? It takes an entire afternoon to do that. Number one love is the first requirement...I could live in the garden of the Brandl Beer Gardens and Restaurant at least one youthhood...walking the wooden planks up and down the courtyard and garage, the ivy covered huge stone walls that enclose the old brewery fortress, the "would you love to see the 14thCentury to 15th section of the house that my husband's mother use to live in? I would love to make it a special guest house that wealthy Americans say come to and stay a day or a maybe week and see that unique part of Regensburg and history that they otherwise could only see in museums?" says Astrid the beautiful blonde wife of the 5th generation owner of the restaurant...Would i? Um the answer is YES!

"It is the oldest authentic real Bavarian Privately owned restaurant in Regensburg," Stefan the owner says, "I've been here 5 Generations." In walks Maximillion, "And here is number 6,"says his proud mother Astrid. Another member of the family comes and his name is Hermann,"Make sure that you write the name of our brewery beer it is Lammbraeu." And Astrid the perfect host says, "Would you like a beer to taste. I should of asked" That is after she has shown me the massive complex, her mother-in-law's quarters, and the American collection of Corvettes! 1965 and 1968 of her husbands...and I say that yes of course I would. We wander into the huge brewery gardens and sit and laugh and talk about life drinking Weiße beer when Hermann joins us and there is friendly hilarious banter back and forth between Astrid and her brother-in-law.  "My daughter is in Miami now and she loves it. She says mom and dad must holiday anywhere except Miami since she wants her distance and privacy!" So? they travel to Sicily soon for fun the two:)

"We´re multi-cultural here, Tunisian lamps and shishas and Morocco and Syria. We have a mother of pearl and wooden inlaid poker table from Syria that you can´t get anymore since of the war. " says Al. It is precious. "In addition to all the hookahs too that students can afford since the shishas run about 60E. I don´t say O that chandelier is 300Euros and that shisha is 500Euros...everybody can buy shishas here. And my shisha lounge in about 30 kilometers from here has live music too!"

Cool rare ShiSha Hookahs from Syria can´t get anymore:) you can find here:)

The elegant boutique cafe and wine bar is kitty corner  from the Regensburg theater. Tucked away in the quaint cobblestoned alleys with the owner pictured here. "My husband is an architect and it is a risk to open the cafe for us. But almost 4 years now and I am very happy we have the cafe. An architect´s life is risky and here everyday I come...see the bar? I joke to my husband that he built a place for me to work! All of it in the cafe is built for me..." Julia says, when I ask her why she is always happy and smiling. "It is fun to come here everyday. I work upstairs  in the bakery with 3 people who bake for me. Cakes. And the cafe here is if you want to take a cake home maybe 2 pieces but people hardly ever will order 5 cakes say. It is a cafe with coffee that has cakes to eat while one drinks coffee." She says. The fact that it used to be a dark bakery is maybe why she is adamant about the coffee and cake thing. "Ya it was dark. Long. Definitely different in the bakery before we redid it! Now it is the perfect size."
The one thing that you will notice if you meet Julia is her laughter. She laughs and smiles all the time. A bundle of energy. "Yes I have fun here everyday. And I have two small children that love to come and eat the cakes and bake up in the bakery. But sometimes maybe the baker of the day doesn´t want small children baking cakes with them!" she laughs good-naturedly. "Sometimes the music people and the theater people from the Big theater next to us come in and they all know me and chat. They invite me to see the perfomances and I go. I love to meet these people and to see the shows. " Just then a friend walks in and hands Julia a ticket for the nights performance as if on cue! "See!" she says as she holds up the  ticket. "Tonight is a show I am seeing. " I told to Julia that it is fun to have such a life!

The owner of Kona Coffee in Regensburg is 31, "Yes I am young and I owned the cafe only one year. People come in and say that it feels different though. It is a feeling a mood. I let students exhibit from the photography workshop that is one thing that is mine and I kept the old with the new such as the writer´s quotes on the walls...to show that it is a lived in place. People can come and feel comfortable here. The mom´s all come with the babies. They know that is Kona´s specialty." Edward says. "I have 3 rooms. One is the classical coffee tables room, one is the kids and babies room where they all play and one is the have a drink eat the cakes etc. Each one has a different feeling and when the artists come to show me I always pick the ones that show that feeling." Lisa below has been here 3 years:)
Edward says, "I was in Sales before and when I heard that Kona is available I grabbed it. I had never been in the cafe before!" he says laughing. And again? "It was just a feeling that I had and I loved the cafe. I am happy now. it is fun to come to work everyday and the workers?" he searches for a word from German to English..."the workers are all different. They choose the music each morning and yes I let my people have freedom...sometimes..." he laughs, "too much!"
The mom´s are adorable as they show off their babies and one little baby keeps moving and hiding away...giggling the entire time...
I take a picture of the young teenagers being well teenagers... "Yes that shows the youth of Regensburg." he says. And indeed each room has that edgy young workshop feel to it. Edward says "feeling" a lot...to try to explain just what makes Kona different.
"Now the project in addition to seeing and interviewing for the workshop exhibits...is to improve lunch!" he says...although they have bagels.;) so
and yes I am happy

The two? "We maybe would ride the horses if they were bigger. Some of our friends rode these and we took pictures. They had fun."
http://andreagarburg.de/ Andrea Garburg herself with members of her staff at the two story sleek modern salon that she created and owned since 10 Years. Andrea speaks only German! yet we tried to communicate. With the help of Kate her blue haired assistant!, "We have all for the entire body massage upstairs and for the face and hair and nails. It is a full service salon, " says the shy blue haired Kate...

I ask the gracious woman Andrea if she would be kind enough to pose in her kingdom and she says "Yes!" laughing. Here she is. The salon can be entered from the main floor or through a side door by ringing the buzzer market Garburg. And swoosh upstairs to the elegant private area where you can have the master´s work on your hair...seeing the beauty of Regensburg without being seen!
Andrea Garburg - Haare · Kosmetik · Wellness
I loved the friendliness of the staff in such a cool salon where sometimes the snobbiness makes me turn back around, "Let me grab Andrea to say Hi except she only speaks German..." warns the warm Kate when I first saw her, and off she runs to find the owner who is smiling and gracious and charming. Who says you need to speak the same language to be understood! Try it you´ll love it.
THE DIFFERENCES OF CELEBRATING NEW YEAR´S EVE IN AMERICA AND GERMANY...o But in Kroatia! Did you know you have to wear RED?

       SYLVESTER
"We went to the filmbuhle club but first we came from Rosenheim and from Rosenheim we spent two hours drinking Bavarian beers and to a friend´s flat where we only knew 2 people and from here we met all the people at the house party the next 3 hrs and to the club at midnight and I Simon woke up at 7am at a different flat and I don´t know how I got there but this one here is Matthew he woke up in the friend´s flat at 8 and had a beer." they sheepishly giggle and the other one Sebastian says, "I went to the friend´s flat at 7 am and made it in although it is too early and slept." Would they want a new year at the 2015? "The entire last year is the best and we would do it all again. Every Saturday we party with friends and every Sunday we climb the mountains near King Ludwigs castle." says Matthew and Simon, but Sebastian who repairs roofs says, "I would love more holidays and motorcross!"
The two adorables..."we´re eating pizza somewhere and just grabbing a couple of slices...and lets see just walking from club to club to bar to bar spontaneously to find some fun place but we don´t want to pay a big price to enter a club!" they say and they are adorable trust me they tell me about a tradition that Bavarians do of putting a metal in heat and into water and in the water it makes a shape and the shape is a heart if that is the guess and it is of different shapes and that is a game that the Bavarians play and yes they say there is a Youtube video of it!     bleigiessen
Here is a group of goofy students having fun at Sylvester, "Yes and here is a id it is a health id i think we found it on the table here..." okay i say lets include this too since he looks like the free syrian army guy in my photos on yolasite...sophie someone...okay sophie if you lost your id find it at the san francisco coffee company where we gave it to the lady in case you were looking for it...um Um um Um um Um um... "we went to  the cafe Legato, " they say and say that they spent a lot of Sylvester there! , " I am Andreas in the middle and I would like to train more muscles, I am Leoni and I wouldlove to do better on my Alevels, and I am Michael and I wouldl ove to earn mmore money, spend less on alcohol..." they laugh and say that yes Michael spends tons of money on alcohol! I say that if you spent 3 Euros everyday on alcohol and put it in a little box bank instead that at the 31st of December of 2015 you would have 1,300E and could all go to Tahiti.

"We´re doing little cheese treats and we both cook...it isn´t like fondue I don´t know what it is called in English?" he says...that´s alright we know it is with cheese:) and I love cheese...:)

"We go to friend´s houses and we do dinner and sometimes we go out to clubs...yes fireworks is legal and everybody sets off fireworks at midnight which is 12am."
"we´re from Kroatia...and on New Year´s Eve we celebrate with a must wear red. That is the traditional color and it brings best of luck during the year of 2015." says the two girls from Kroatia one who has moved to Regensburg to make a better living for herself...and her friend who hopes to relocate here.
"I am Adriano that is a Italian name but I am originally from Poland and now I live in Germany since 2 years old...and I do a party at home with a little alcohol that I bought just a little you know...and you know guten ruosh...I like you I hope you have a great 2015 year emme..." me too Adriano.
Vinni,"I am waiting for a friend and when my friend comes we can go out to a club maybe and I brought a little backpack to stay the night:)"

The beauty of a deserted alleyway late at night in the city...and on the way to the church early morning in Regensburg...

"Yes alright take our pictures...we love working at McDonalds...:)" To the hard workers that work everyday at McDonalds and all we ever say to these sweet people...give me a Big Mac!

"We´re having a home party where we have about 10 people and we´re all cooking and drinking and we´re maybe going clubbing after when midnight comes...yes we know the dinner for one! and yes we´ll probably watch it!"

Here is a lovely couple who, "we´re doing fondue with another couple. Only us and two other people. And um...funny hats and favors on Sylvester? Um, no, since the Germans they´re much more concerned with the way that they appear such as image. We would seem to silly to wear such things...and yes I know that Americans wear these things!" she says...I tell her if you google a 1,000Euros per plate dinner on New Years eve in New York city I can guarantee that not only will it come complete with pictures of these party favors but the people attending a 1,000Euro plate dinner care more about who has the coolest New Year´s Eve hats!
"We´re from Hirschau and we´re named the Stammtisch group...we named ourselves that! and we have about 12 then in the group. We´re here at Regensburg to see a movie," says the group chowing down on burgers and fries...New Year´s Resolutions?..."quite smoking, drink more beer, eat a little bit less, and learn more sports, and Marcos the chubby one, " says simon who is doing mostof the talking, "he is trying to drop 30 kilometers..." 30 kilometers? I say?  They laugh, "We say 30 kilograms! he wants to drop 30 kilograms." and as the waitress brings the food and yells out a huge burger meal Marcos raises his hand, "take it away take it away, " i yell but Marcos grabs it... see I say I am trying to help you Marcos but you need to stop eating these huge McDonalds burgers! "tomorrow, " Marcos says! and then there is Pascal,"I want to marry a beautiful woman in 2015" he says and they all laugh and say that yes that is all Pascal talks about!

The two characters being guardians of the gate at the Thurn und Taxis estate....here in Regensburg.

Students coming from Munchen to visit the Regensburg Christkindles all drinking 31Cent beers..."The way we see it you can drink 10 beers instead of one glub wine..." the famous mathematicians figure out!

Here meet Max who is a career army soldier in the German army and home to Regensburg, "I came to spend a coiuple of days til Christmas with my aunts and my grandmother. The one thing that my grandmother said that she would love for Christmas is for me to take her to the Christkindle markets. That is what I love to do spend time with my family."

The Red Rooster in America and the um Roter Hahn in Germany...I am proud to learn German today and especially proud to have a association with such a beautiful restaurant and hotel in Regensburg. The Architecture is outstandingly superb with sleek streamlined features, steel welded stairs, all angles and elegance steering you into the modern world yet settling into a 12 century! house, pub, barn...what was this amazing structure you might ask as you sit down to dine on the international menu surrounded with religious art and the owner´s wife´s stunning paintings.

Monika Schmidt is the artist of these paintings, "They only are hung here. It is works only for my home. The Roter Hahn is my home and I paint these with love. They are not for sale."  She says when I ask her if anyone comes in and wants to buy the paintings. "Yes they do but they fit here. I say o here is a wall that needs a color to fit it and I paint it and hang it here..." She says as behind her is one of my favorites of hers a wall of ivory with splashes of colors and words. They´re picassoish yet different...she has a world wide talent in her art and when I tell her that she is uninterested! She shrugs, "They only to my home. They fit here. Above the stairway in the main dining room is religious art depicting the giving and receiving of food as in the gift of life" and although these paintings take on the feel of the 1000 year old stone wall set below and behind the stairs where one of her modern paintings hang, they set the stage to let hers in. It is a elegant restaurant and hotel that showcases the beauty of the 12th century beams and the 15th century well, yet allows the famous Regensburg architect Martin Scheuerer to then create his beauty with steel structures and modernism. http://www.roter-hahn.com/

Monika, "The history of the Red Rooster is that there used to be a street named the Scherer alley where how do you say..." she makes the charades of cutting material and I say, "o a sewing seamstress"... and Monika replys, "Yes and when the people with horses and carriages come here and they take lamb´s..." as she makes charades come alive I shout, "lamb´s wool! and it is a loom:" she smiles, "Yes and when they come they come from the shearing to the pub. At the time it is the biggest pub in Regensburg and they all come here. It wasn´t a restaurant at the time only a pub and now it is a catering, hotel, restaurant. My children both they´re involved in the business. My daughter studied at the Sansibar in Sylt which is world famous and my son is studying to a chef. He has 1 and 1/2 years of master classes:)"

http://www.soundaktuell.de/   okay would you love to see the biggest and the coolest and the friendliest and I am saying again and again the friendliest music store in Regengsburg...check out the Sound Aktuel in Gewerbepark. 0941-46443-0

Im Gewerbepark A 25,is where you can find these crazy guys...

Alright and the big question is...does it really matter if the guitar costs 100Euros or 5,000E? "Yes it does. The guitars that sound the better quality is the 5,000E ones. They sound better and you can definitely tell the difference. That is about the range in the store. And no we don´t carry Gibson guitars from America simply because they will only deal in high volume and we deal in smaller quantity and high quality. We do have Fender from America." I ask if he could pose for a picture and you can see that he is a real guitar player since he doesn´t just stand near the guitars but actually picks one up and plays:) Since it is the biggest and  first musical instrument store in Regensburg they know tonsof people in the Music business and he says that he sends a lot of people to the Music Academy to learn. It is fun at the store and I played the drums in the private drum room...cool.

The number of people in the owner´s band he says, "Is about 12 to 13. We play about 5 times per year. I play the guitar only and everybody else in the store is a specialist in thta musical instrument...such as drums and keyhboards. Hmm and the way that I choose the guitars? That is easy I choose the guitars that I love to play myself. I try each one and play it."

The coolest thing about the job Carsten? "I guess of course it is the humor of the older people that I enjoy and in addition it is seeing how the industry has changed in the last 20 some years. The hearing aid itself has become tiny nad more efficient and the technology is amazing to imagine the way it was 20 years ago and now today. It is cool to see the technology. Maybe in future they can even correct totally def persons but I don´t know really." I ask ifa person who is totally def can recover...maybe we need to wait and see!

Okay here is the team of the HEARING AID  PLACE IN GEWERBEPARK in Regensburg...says the owner, "O I love working with the old people they´re funny. I have 4 sons, 9, 7, 5, 3 and it is too much emotion to work with the children so It is more fun to work with the older people. Everyday they make me laugh..." he says.... his assistant says, "different!" & Laughs.Google translate...HELP°1  0941/4611999Im Gewerbepark C01

Here is Matthias a funny German who is a artist...he says "I am at the Academy in Regensburg. I am not very good with my art but I try. I love Regensburg. I travel from a village 20 kilometers everyday but I wish I could live in Regensburg. But I have money problems...the reason is okay i shouldn´t say but here it is...I downloaded a game from the internet. I shared it with friends on the internet. the owners of the game had lawyers track my ispn address and they wrote me nasty letters. then two fake lawyers said that I had to share it with them and they wanted money from me...so now Iinstead of paying 900Euros i only have to pay 200Euros. That is what happened. I depend on my mom and dad now to help me. But when I come to Regensburg I am happy and I draw people. The drawing here is  of a man on the bus and most people don´t even notice you draw them becauise they´re so busy with their lives that when I draw them I can draw and they don´t even know that I am sketching them for my art book"
Matthias is a doll. He attends the academy near the river for art in Regensburg.

I told him next time download games on the cias´s page that is what they´re there for!

When chatting with bored shoppers the young college kids all say the same thing,"We love the Christkindle and we all love to drink glub wine and go out with friends. It is a Christmas feeling the atmosphere that we love the most." says the two girls waiting for the Christkindle at the Thurn und Taxis, "we wait til 8:00pm because we can afford it !"

These two college kids while posing for pictures were too shy to sing, he however sang great Jingle Bells...funny!

Meet these two characters who "study Bio Chemistry in the Master´s category..." they say...they would love to meet a girlfriend in the year of 2015...hmm how come two cute bachelors are still single minus girls? "The Bio Chemistry girls are geeky. You know big glasses etc." they say..."We definitely don´t want to date bio chemists. Mostly because we do chemistry all day and when we´re having fun we don´t want to talk about bio chemistry at a bar." And the perfect girl of the 2015 year? The blonde...with the wonderful emmeanesbook pink attached says, "Hmm I would love to date a ballet dancer!" I ask if he knows that Regensburg has ballet at the big theater? "Really?" okay on the right track here... and the dark haired one? "I guess let me think okay I would really love to date how do you say the girls that skate on ice and do dancing on the ice?" A ice dancer? like at the Olympics? "Yes that one I would love to date a ice dancer..." Okay I give him the Walt Disney on Ice google site and the Ice Follies...

The scuba store is amazing... "My favorite diving is with my wife, " the owner says, when I ask if it is fun to take students all the time... "Um..." he says and makes a quick exit!

Here is the owner with his guests and all of his little fun things to do and all these good treats! "Hmm I say every day. I love to scuba dive however maybe I do a new career and maybe I open a new store around the world. We have a travel store too.I love to travel. Who knows maybe after 5 years I try a new career!" Um okay what could be funner than scuba diving...maybe owning a safari tour company and taking pictures of elephants" Elephants Elephants and Elephants!

If you would love to find the biggest and oldest scuba diving company in Regensburg check out the travel divers...the owner has been here since 22 years and he and his wife take students and experienced divers all around the world. Vist at...

Rudolf is funny, "I´ve been doing it 22 years. Everybody I hope loves the job that they do but as a student of scuba diving I went my first time and went away on vacation and when I came back I thought...hmm I really love scuba diving maybe I should teach classes and I taught classes and then I thought maybe I should open my own scuba store..." The funniest thing? When he opened the scuba store i ask thinking maybe he opened the scuba store a couple of years after his realization that he loved scuba diving and wanted to make a career out of it?..."o ONE DAY! " he says. One day after he taught his first student he opened his very own scuba store? "-yes it took me one day to say yes I am opening my own scuba store!" Cool

http://www.musik-wittl.de/CMS/index.php While you say O yes I shall sign up my child with music lessons the first store on the list is a store that has guitars and musical instruments...check out Heidi Wittl, Alfred Wittl and Anna Wittl at the Wittl Music Stores in Regensburg at HaidPlatz 1

And start learning the guitar the way you always wanted to:)

Two Music students taking a break in the cold outside the building. The School has 600 students and has the same Bavarian Breaks that Germany has for all colleges. What does the busy owner do on his break?"sit home!" he says. Although "I went to New York about 10 years its been and took a 3 week tour in the New England states then. Beautiful," Klaus says. I ask if when he is traveling if he tries to hear the great musicians and see great jazz such as in New York? "Yes all the time.I play the guitar myself and one of the owners plays the piano and the other one sings. We knew each other from different bands and at the University and started the school you know with one student and now it has over 600 stuidents." That is a cool achievement I say and especially since he went from one student many years ago and now they´re a recognized and accredited college. Cool people cool school check it out!

"The school is 2 sections...one is a music school which is just you can come and take music classes in any class that you want to and the other is the college. The college is accredited and it is a 2 to 3 year program. The students become professionals and graduate with degrees..." says one of the 3 leaders of the private music college in Regensburg Germany pictured above. He is a friendly guy and laughs all the time as his students, young as 4! , come in and out of the door...asking questions and grabbing guitars. "We have little ones from 4 years old that take music singing lessons and the oldest is a 76 year old man that took vocal lessons one year with us." Klaus Erhart, Gunther Conrad, and Josef Meier are the three partners that started the school in "it is a Old train station building where they used to repair trains!" he says. It is a pretty cool building and as you wander the halls you can hear drums in one room, guitars, singing etc. and the anxious parents of the little ones who sit outside on the benches!

And while you mosey across the Stone Bridge check out the Christkindle Mercatos that the Spital Beer Gardens sponsorings...they have the usual punch and the Regensburgers yet a funny little haymercato with live sheep...pictured here is a little tyke with the tag of 37...I hope Prince Albert buys that one:)

"I am from the East of Germany having lived in Berlin most of my life..." says Tom,
the owner of the totally cool diving school named Blue Water Dives.  Wow I ask if he was alive during the East Communist reign and he says, "Ah yes I lived 18 years with communist power. I am 43 years old now and honestly I had a wonderful childhood. I know that everybody had college free and my mom and dad had great jobs and we always had food on the table. As a matter of fact we were all fat because we ate too much sausages and steaks and meat. That was the staple of the communist reign. When people ask me why anybody would run from East to West Berlin I say one of two reasons... they had no chance of going West they either had to stay in Germany on the East side or they had to have a vacation in a communist country such as Russia or Czecholslovakia where communist reigned and we used to go to a lake in Cyecholslovakia and it is a beautiful vacation. Yet people felt they wanted to make their own decisions. Then the 2nd reason was that people had to do the values of socialism. The day
that the Wall came down I was at my home. The day that the people could freely travel from East to West Berlin a man stood at the podium between the East and the West and read the declarations. Journalists came and television and 100s of 1000s of people and while he is reading the declarations the journalists asked when the people with passports and ids could freely travel from one side to the other. He ran his finger down the list and read and said "wow I guess as of now as of today." that is how everybody knew. Even the soldiers didn´t know. They had to let everybody with IDs or Passports travel freely between borders.!"

"In the year of 2015 we have a trip to Egypt on the schedule, a trip to Cuba and a trip to the Phillipines. You should come and join us!" He says...I say that maybe Cuba!
Here the workshop of the diving club that does tons of its business in the winter on repairs and in the summer mostly dives. Notice the shark on the little wooden workbench..."I used to work with Amazon.com about 12 years...and that is the gift the little woodern work bench signed from the founder of Amazon!" Tom says.
"The funnest and scariest dives we ever have done is on Halloween. Totally cool actually...we dove in a lake about 31 some kilometers from here and we had pumpkins in the water with lights and skeletons and people all dove down to find candy and treasures and treats. They loved it. When the dive is finished we all had warm wines and dinner and everybody had tons of fun. The dive is from about 20:00pm to midnight. We´re doing it every year now since we had such a great time." That is TOTALLY COOL::: I say. I would love to do that. That is the first time that I ever heard of a scuba diving company doing a Halloween dive! And I said that they should do a New Year´s Eve party too. "That is a great idea. We can think about that." he says.

            frohliche-Turken-Straße 13 Regensburg...

I am surprised and happy to meet the owner of Arnulf von Karnten since it is a long time that I met him. If you remember he used to own the biking store named Draisgang and that he opened only til his men´s clothing line came available. "I waited and waited trying to contact people who would know if the family members of the Kaiser is alive. I wanted to make my own clothing line based on his legend and his name and when I found out that he has no living relatives I asked if I could make my label with his name..." Says the owner..., Levent Oktem.  "My children said Dad we want you to go to work in suits we don´t want a dad that owns a bike store! So here I am the first day of the opening of the store and in one of my suits. My son, my children are 11 and 12, said the morning today...o he is wearing a suit!" 094 1 870 090 84

With his own label I ask if he himself is the designer?"'Me? no-no don´t say that I am the designer...maybe in the future yes. Right now we work with a manufacturer and I say that I would like a shirt with that on it etc and he makes it. We put the label on it. I am only concerned about doing Regensburg right now. Maybe in one year if the business is good we can expand into other big stores around Germany. Right now it is only Regensburg. I carry only the men´s clothes as you can see the quality wool coats from 400E to the ties and the shirts. It is all business attire. Clothes that I would wear to work." he says. When I ask if he misses the bike store since everybody around Europe when I would show the Draisgang bikes to them they would say...o where is that? We want one of these. "Yes I know every couple of days people ask...do you have the bikes and I have to tell them no! I am doing the men´s clothing store now. If someone really wanted a bike I could find it for him! The thing is though I admired the man Von Kaernten who came to Germany with nothing and after 5 years he became the ruler , the Kaiser. I paralled that with my life since I came here to Regensburg with nothing then after 5 years I am a successful business man with a wife and children. I wanted to base my clothing line on somebody that I admired." he says. Wow cool story and cool store...hope you love it.

Stephan showing me the menu, "See on the page here we offer all dishes made only with Asparagus. All of the food is Asparagus."

Emme laughing hysterically: You're kidding right?....   Stephan, "Nope all of it is Asparagus and then next week is something different. "     We start talking about vacations and  he shows me an iternary of his trip he is planning hiking in the Austrian moutains, "We're going hiking now in the summer since it is impossible to hike in the snow there in the winter."   Emme: That is pretty cool...where is the coolest place you ever went on vacation?

Stephan, "I went up a glacier and lived in a tent that overlooked the fjords of Norway. That is the most beautiful place I^ve ever been."

Emme, One of the most beautiful places Ive ever seen is the view from the Stone Bridge late at night when there is snow on the ground. It is other worldy and mystical and imaginative and beautiful.

Stephan, "You like Regensburg huh?"

Emme I love Regensburghttp://www.holidaycheck.de/data/urlaubsbilder/mittel/41/1160915381.jpgAnd run across the road to hear the violin players at the Meier Restaurant and if you're lucky you can grab a table always always packed...http://cdn.restaau.com/de/Images/0/223/223043/IMG_1246_premium_.png

My little room had a sekret passage..you thought it is a closet no...a bathroom old fashioned tucked into the dressers! a beauty of a room with antiques and faded persian rugs. It is totally charming. A room of romance.   When you see the little sleigh bed with its authentic faded persian rug laying faithfully next to it and exquisite elegant long slender chestnut mirror you imagine that it is a 18 th century German cottage enroute from the crossing Czech border that weary travelers used along their escape route...charm and mystique and beauty...from one occupied territory to another...and inside my chamber is a sekret door and armoir! and it is when you open the closet and find the sekret passage...entering the door you walk through the closet  to the little abode oops Im sorry I mean the commode...and when you open the other door on the armoir it is the closet!   It is of beauty and charm...http://www.hotel-lux.eu/

Across the 2000 year old alley cobblestoned of course is the Restaurant Meier which is cozy and woodsy and a cabin feel but maybe about 1000 years ago! I could hang out there all night it gives you a warm great feeling and that is where I chatted with the owner Stephan Kappi who is hilarious and a bundle of energy, "Yes I owned the restuarant 19 years and 7 years the Lux. It is great I enjoy the people that come to eat since I can sit and talk to em and learn a little about everybody where as at the Hotel people come and go. I love every culture. Everyone who comes in here is nice."      It could have something to do with the fact that he is such a friendly person.

Aw yes...the Bear...once upon a time does every fairytale start this way? Once upon a time a circus came to Regensburg...where 300 years ago there was a wall around the city...an ancient Roman wall and again another wall...without the first wall is where travelers and traders had to sleep and that is where the story of the circus and the bear is. The tavern owner let the bear sleep(a dancing bear) in its stalls and shoed the other animals a little calf out. In the middle of the night robbers came to steal from the Tavern and steal the baby cow but the bear grabbed the robber instead and held the robber all night. From that point on the bear is allowed to sleep in the town.

"First Shoemaker he made shoes  was my Grandfather and at the Army he started cutting hair because they didn'T have anyone to cut hair and when he got out of the Army the American Army Major took him to America and he started cutting hair there! They loved him in the Army:)"

He shows me the pictures of the family.                                                                                           His Grandfather and father                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               and his mother too! When a guest walks                                                                                                into the store Thomas says, "O he  came to get his hair cut from my Grandfather and my father! " When I ask the                                                                                guest which one is the best haircutter he laughs, "O all of these the best."                                                                                                                                                                 However I say that he should of said Thomas since Thomas is the one with the scissors in his hands at the moment!

We sit chatting while I drink a Medieval Beer at 6:45pm from a Clay Mug from the 1500s and chat about life. When is it a good time to lie I ask the two HILARIOUS kids working. "When you are protecting a young child and you tell them that their dad got killed in a car wreck because he was a horrible person." says Andrea. UM wow that came from out of left field. And Max? "When the world is so...knotted when it is tied in knots..." and he is making a motion of tieing something into knots. I don't know yet for me I am thinking about ordering the Flammkuchen with the shrooms because these kids are on to something.
"I am here 3 years and I see the Flammkuchen about 125 times everyday. I don't want to ever look at another Flammkuchen!" Says Andrea. "Sometimes I have 5 shots and I don't even know where I am so I can't make the Flammkuchen!" she says laughing. I say now is a good time to lie Andrea and we all start laughing. "No no I mean the Flammkuchen is great it is just if you eat it everyday 3 years you want to eat a cheeseburger!" Does the Medieval Tavern have cheeseburgers? "No!"

Maybe that is something new on the menu.! Image may contain: 2 people, people standing and indoor

Andrea is one of the funniest people that I have ever met in my entire life. Soon we are joined at the Medieval Bar with two IT students and we order a Flammkuchen just to make Andrea make one more Flammkuchen of the night. It is lovely with onions, cheese, mushrooms and lamb. My second such Flammkuchen at the tavern and we all eat it while we discuss childhood legends that we believed in such as the Medieval Knights of the Round Table (here) and the Pillsbury Dough Boy(mine) and the Tom and Jerry TUAN's and Micheal's Never Ending Story and the Bartender's Bambi trauma. Leave it to Walt Disney to Traumatize children around the world. A group of people come in and order clay mugs of cold beer and platters of meat served on wooden trays ala Medieval Times. It is a totally cool place.

The other room if you speak English you can use it since it deals with PCs and finding the codes and clues to keys in the PCs and the Passwords. Although I am from Hungary and the first Escape Rooms where supposedly founded in Hungary I personally had never been in one when I thought of my first concept rooms here." says Stefan who has much fun showing you his imaginative and challenging rooms. "The rooms challenge the way one thinks and it makes people use their brains. I have videos on the rooms and radio communications and that lets me do a couple of things. One is that if I see they need a little help I can give clues to the guests. However some of the guests say to you when they do the rooms, don´t give me clues...I want to do it myself. The other way is that they can ask for help when they are in the rooms if they want it. Some keep going on and on and forget to ask!" he says. "If the 1hr. is up and they haven´t escaped I let them keep trying unless there are other people booked behind them. The point is to have fun and learn." I asked before if the people that don´t escape if he puts them in the dungeon basement? "No it doesn´t have a dungeon."

Stefan, who has owned the wild and fun MATRIX which is the only Escape Room concept in Regensburg since December, says that he has made the rooms out of his own imagination only. http://roomescape.com/uploads/default/images/location_images/gallery/Exit_The_Matrix_Room_Escape_Game_Regensburg_217202_360x360.jpg

here you can play all day...at least til you escape!

In the computer room you are 1st challenged to enter by figuring it out the code to the door...then once inside you must find clues to open the pc passwords and clues inside the computer to the combination of the safe where the key to the door is...cool!

"Here the girls rule, at 32 minutes it is the fastest time that anyone has ever escaped the library room...
4 girls won that title...they were lucky since they happened to pick the first book out of many with the first clues in it..." says Stefan...
I guess that is a challenge to the guys to beat!

Think Woodstock and find "what we would really like to do at the Rock and Roll bar, " says the always smiling manager who looks like a cross between Jason Priestly and Justin Timberlake. "We just found the cool guitars and had the owner´s sign it and the cool rock and roll pictures and built the bar around it. It is a little Hard Rock yet original private owners. I hope MIck Jagger and the great ones visit the bar and bring some instruments for us to add to the wall...now that would be cool." he says...or try open mic! night:)https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jag-deine-Eltern-nicht-vom-Hof/791241837621614?fref=ts

The bar is elegant and already has tons of guests as you can see! Yet it is definitely themed for rock and roll and has a cool young team of real rock and rollers..."We have the apartments upstairs which was a problem with noise for the Black Banana and Orange bar before. Now only people that love rock and roll can have the apartment upstairs...That is in the fine print...must love rock and roll." he laughs when he says that. "Really the team here should rent the apartment since they could hear great music even when they´re    not working..." he says.

Alright I must say that the little girl pictured below to the right looks very bad doesn´t she? You will be pleased to know that she has grown up to be quite the nicest person. Her name is Debora De Pellegrin and her husband´s name is Mauro. They own the new opened one year in June Aamu. "Aamu is a combination of our children´s names...one is Aaron and the other is Murelia. When we moved back to Regensburg after being away about 8 years we knew that the cafe is going to be the biggest project of our lives. And since our children are the biggest projects of our lives, "she laughs when she says that, "we said alright let´s name the cafe with our children´s names." And the little play area for children? "My son made the paintings that are hanging on the clothesline" she admits yet there is tons of colors and a little table for the little tykes. "Yes here is a play area for children. That is important to know, too."
"I make homemade strawberry icecream...all natural, no chemicals, and yes it is fattening since it has a lot of sugar. I make the milkshakes with that. When the icecream is gone it is gone. We run out about every time that I make it!" says Marc. Is that quiche? Yes Virginia real men eat quiche. From here traveled to Regensburg and worked a little in the restaurants always intending to continue my journey around the world yet I stayed here 17 years!" he laughs. and I say I know that I love Regensburg. "My lady and partner is Tina," he says and introduces me to a tall smiling lady. "I don´t know who has the hardest job since she is doing more miles than me yet I am the one with the, heat!" He says laughing as he stands near the pots and pans. "I am the one putting myself out there everyday." and I say that is true. A chef hopes the love he puts into his recipes the people appreciate. "Most of the time they do. Sometimes when they criticize I say o okay maybe I should try that and sometimes they just don´t like it."

www.jazzclub-regensburg.de                    Winfried the owner along with his beautiful wife Gertrud has owned the Leerer Beutel and Jazz Club about 25 years now...

Alte Filmbuehne Regensburg Germany at Taubengässchen 2 ! right across from the "Stone Bridge"

"We have three locations really. One is here the baby which is 22 years now that we've owned it, the other is the Filmbuehne that is located on Taubengasschen which is almost 32 years old.We moved that one about 4 times til it is finally where it is now."Karin the owner of Alte Filmbühne says.  When I tell her that Charlie Chaplin is for sale she feigns aghast, "O no no no no....we're done we're not moving again. Because me and my partner with each other over 30 years." I say that it is a great location..."No no no no." she says. "We used to have a huge space where Vitus was but now I am happy here and at the one near the river. That one is a bar and it is only open at night for cocktails. You know I've seen a lot of people come and go...changes over the 30 years. The people change. When I am young I asked my mom and dad if I could leave. And they said sure go but you won't have our money if you go.And I went. I made my own life. People at that time were independant. Now it is too easy for everybody. Teenagers have mobil communication which makes it easy for them to communicate."
And of course the picture we all love to speculate about the infamous Mona Lisa!
When I ask how she chooses her teams at both places, Frederic her bartender says "Because it is how beautiful we are"..., she laughs, "Yes that is true. Seriously it is a feeling I have of the people I meet. When I met Frederic he was a guest at the other bar and we chatted. One day he asks if I need anybody and I said yes and now he is here at the bar.It is a feeling only." And the art that adorns the walls? "I am a artist at home only but the people in my places that is my art. The people are the paintings!" she says.

"We're the bar in the theater, too, which is super easy since the people love to have some wine or something to drink in between the shows. We're traditional. We have their drinks ready for them on the reserved tables since the older people get a little nervous at intermission." I say that it reminds me of white glove service and the Titantic...the good part not when it sinks. She laughs, "Yes it is traditional. Here it's across from the theater and it is open everyday all day. Here it is a lot harder work. The theater is easy." Karin says.
Dominic, the owner is one of the nicest kindest people I have ever met literally. Dominic owns Jeans, the "Because it is the only gay bar in Regensburg" description from the fun loving guests sitting around the bar. He looks like PAUL NEWMAN! The bar itself is cozy and woodsy...think a perfect replica of a wooden barn..."It used to be a restaurant that roasted pigs...little tiny pigs on rotating spits, " says Dominic as he shows me where the pigs used to be roasted. "That was 1975 and then it becames a bar bar in 1992 and finally a gay bar in 1992.. I've personally owned it since 10 years now and really haven't added much except for the golden painted torsos that I painted myself. I took a lot of old bavarian memorablia out and added modern touches so the young students can come in here too...like the facebook flashing sign and the updates on facebook. I try to see what the public wants...the young people use facebook so I must have facebook." says the affable owner.
As we talk at the cozy bar at 22:00pm two guys that work at Skylar keep yelling jokingly,"We come here because it is the only one in Regensburg it is the only gay bar in 'Regnesburg! And Skylars is the dance bar!" they yell...the other guests laugh at them and I have a feeling that everybody gets a little crazy later on!
aS YOU CAN SEE THE YOUNG PEOPLE LIKE HAVING FUN: And does Dominic have fun ever? "Yes the bar is fun or I wouldn't do it  and every 5 years I take a vacation," he says..."only relaxing in Italy. Drinking well, eating good food, drinking more, relaxing, that's it"

Rossini Weine at  jakobstrasse 12 in Regensburg is opened from 3 to 8, "I make my own hours.'" says the owner Michael! "That is why I own my own wine store.  I can do what I want. Actually in the mornings I am delivering wines to different restaurants that order wimes from me. That takes up the mornings and the afternoons I like talking to the tourists, especially the boat people. We call them the boat people...you know all the tourists that come on the river cruises. And yesterday and today I met a couple that were biking around Europe following Danube from Netherlands! They must of liked the wine since they came back and bought more wine!" he says. That is why he loves his store, "I can recommend wines with meals. People from Regensburg come in here all the time and ask for my opinion. That is important to me and it is fun." +49941565400

One of his favorites is here... and try the others in the store too. Cool Collection and we all love wine...

"I did my first massage at the age of 8...my mother made me give her one!" says my new friend Claudia...when you meet her you will instantly love her.  "Seriously I´ve done massage me entire life and only recently say the last 5 years since the studio I´ve only done the cosmetic and podologie(foot massage). That is because everybody has to be a medically certified massage therapist and not just a well I´ll do massage. You have to have at least 2 to 3 years medical training to do massages here."

"We have a great website too. Especially for making appointments and if say your college student is studying in Regensburg you can order a gift certificate from my website with a email to me and at that time I can send it to the address. Or say a tourist in Regensburg that comes on the river boats can call up and order a massage and make a appointment. I hope that is how they use it. We have Americans and Australians come in here and Germans. It is totally international. I love my job!" she says.
Claudia is a lovely girl with beautiful skin and to keep it that way?"O I have all sorts of funny names such as the Speedy Cow from Cowshed cosmetics...they have a Horny Cow too and all of that and they have great masks. All of these are natural and that is why I choose the Coswhed ones..." She even has one named Bullocks for real "men" as opposed to fake men! "And yes one of my massage rooms is a couple room (that is the one for real men and real women)the garden room(beautiful, soothing and full of plants) and it is a his and hers. Couples can come and have warm syrupy massages that they can taste. They choose the flavors." (Alright everybody knows I love to eat I could eat while receiving a massage.) The studios are professional and lovely too and have late hours for working people.
"I only use cosmetic products that I would use on me. I have delicate skin and because of that I need to use special cosmetic products. The Suki products we carry are all organically certified and we´re the only studio that carries the Suki in all of Germany.I think that is pretty cool."
The Massage Studio comes complete with a little tiny chihuahua pictured here! His name is Spike:)
And of course the famous race car driver The Prince Al Thurn und Taxis of Regensburg
As one friend said Thats...Albert The Prince which everybody at Regensburg at Christmas said, "We have a prince? I didn't know Regensburg has a royal family.
(he is a much respected Prince) Who is the Prince?" That is why the Prince is now on my website that way when people ask, "Who is the Prince of Regensburg?" The people of Regensburg can say "O yes we know that one ...Albert Thurn und Taxis"   Alright and the little childrens CIA puzzles I can help with too...google...

Ostengasse 16 Regensburg...The Dancing Bear.

Regensburger Str. 3  in                   Eilsbrunn 93161
  http://www.gaststaette-roehrl.de/en/about-us.html

When the family of Rohrl who owns the oldest restaurant in the world according to the Guiness Book of World Records branches out and purchases the famous Dancing Bear in Regensburg how do they adjust? "It´s fun here. In the summer at Eilsbrunn, where the Restaurant Gaststatte Rohrl is located we can have as many as 450 guests in the beer garden. In the winter people come only a little yet here in Regensburg people come a lot at the winter to sit in the warmth and it is a balance that we do. Here inside in the winter and at the family run restaurant in the summer. I believe that at the 11th generation and now my son and daughter the 12th generation we´re the first of the famly to own a establishment outside of the family. There is a brewery with the name of Rohrl Brau Brewery and it is a relative of us yet it is the first additional restaurant I think that we have," says Muk.
AND VISITING THE MOST FAMOUS RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD IS EASY TAKE A TRAIN TO REGENSBURG AND IT IS ABOUT A 12 MINUTE RIDE TO THE OLDEST RESTAURANT IN THE WORLD CHECK IT OUT...COOL:)
And it is a famous restaurant here            I remind him. "Yes yes yes I know the story of the Dancing Circus Bear that chased away robbers and kept the inn safe. That is why we keep the Dancing Bear. We redecorated the inside here with red and white and it took us many hours to do that. Now it is all cleaned up and beautiful." He says. When I entered they were redoing the menu and playing with their two small children.   And how does he keep calm amongst all that they must do? "He shrugs his shoulders..."it´s a new challenge. I´m used to the family and the huge beer gardens and all of that I guess..." he says nonchalently. Me? As usual I take a quick peek at the menu...Yum new Bavarian food:) My favorite.

As I entered my Triumph store , the first Triumph store I ever knew existed, the owner said he is super busy and must adjust a bike...and here they work on the bike...the owner is kneeling in the middle and the person who purchased the bike is drinking a beer leaning on the bike... I said that I hoped he wasn´t driving! "No no I am putting the bike into the van and we drive the van. It is too salty to drive the bike on the road. The salt hurts the bikes." the Italian says...I learned a lot of people drive the bikes only when it is
not snow on the ground.
:)

"Hmm why do I love being the owner? I guess it is because I love the people. It is fun. I love meeting new people everyday and I love selling them bikes!"
says the owner of the Triumph store in Regensburg

                          0941 40925650

Arlight and the two questions we wanted to know...I ask if girls drive motorcycles or only the boys? "Both girls and boys. When someone comes in and let´s say they have a drivers license which I hope they at least have a drivers license! Trust me you would be surprised, yet when they come in and say they would love to purchase a Triumph and they would love to learn how to ride I give these people my friend´s card and they take lessons." Alright we girls and beginners can purchase the bikes.

"Let´s see Triumph is from Great Britain, that you should know and it´s bikes range from 10,000Euros to about 20,000E here in the showroom. The other bikes can range from much higher depending on the bike. Denis started the store 7 years ago maybe and he is a super master mechanic! He is certified to work on BMW´s and Kawasakis, and Ducatis and of course, Triumph bikes. People bring all kinds of bikes in here because they know he is that talented." says his proud sales manager. And why does he do the Triumph Bikes? "Hmm good question. I guess because I love it. I love the bikes and meeting the people and I know that Denis loves the people too. It is Denis´s passion." he says and laughs.

Wife and Husband sales team and owner´s wife all pose for pictures. She was very gracious considering they were on the way to a day vacation and he had to sell bikes! "I´ve been here 5 years, " said his top sales person.

The ones that range from 1milion euros to 10 million euros of course we purchase only if a special client orders it but it is fascinating to see these.

The different styles in the window along with the flower rain hat above.  "Sometimes I spend about 80hrs per week making hats. You know I would love to have the people in my city appreciate the work that I do. It is a love of mine. I love making the hats and since they´re all handmade and it takes a lot of time making hats I would love when the Americans and the Germans and the Australians come into the store and appreciate the quality of thehut_lilo workmanship. Each one is handmade by me." I say that I learned about her from William at the Jazz Club in Regensburg who had one of her hats on..."O Yes I love William. He is funny isn´t he? A little kid!" she says and I say that whenever I talk to William I can´t stop laughing. She shows me his hat that she made and it is reversible.             Why hats? I ask her? "Because I love hats." she says...

"Regensburgers like these hats. The ones that when it rains all you have to do is wear the hat...they love functional hats you don´t need a umbrella, " says the petite sophisticated owner of Lilo Kincaid hats who happens to be Lilo Kincaid! as she shows me the water resistant bubble fabric she uses to make the unusual hats. http://www.lilokincaid.de/#intro

She is the coolest lady all French and all although she isn´t French she is American and German yet she seems so Parisian when you meet her. "I took a class at Paris in 2008 and made my own hat with two different material on the same hat and with stitches surrounding the hat." she says. And the hat? I love it:) She  is all delicate and when she shows you the hats she has each one with care and detail and lovingly feels the hats. Her workmanship is superb. The highest quality. Beautiful and precious. I felt as if I am in Breakfast at Tiffanys or Eliza Doolittle trying all the hats on and the people that we imagine ourselves to be!                          http://www.dillydally-designmarkt.de/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/lilo_END2.jpg
Lilo Kincaid in her design studio."Every year I do the Christkindl Markets and this year is different. I would now love to do fashion shows. I would love to do Austria and Germany and I am planning on a fashion show in Japan working with a famous designer for 2015." Lilo says. I hope she does show the world the fashions since I loved her hats. P: +49 (0)177 7410835    Stadtamhof 9   The beautiful light blue felt hat that Lilo is wearing is of soft rabbit..."You know felt is made from rabbit" she says...now I do:)

Unter den Schwibbögen 1 Here is the coolest bags ever in the store LaVieEstBelle located in 'Regensburg. The bags of course real leather and strong quality. Expensive? A little yet lasts forever cool. I dressed the mannequin to the right and 'Andy(along with wife Barbara) owns the store. "It´s been only 4 months yet I know that is a little wild for Regensburg, " he says as he sees the colorful display. Yes I know I say yet the girls at the clubs in New York, London and in Miami would wear that...and since they all come to University here...? "Okay," he says, "let me call my wife and I can send her the picture and she´ll probably call me right away and say...O my gosh that is too wild for us!"   Yet it stayed...I hope the girls buy that mannequin.:)https://www.facebook.com/lavieestbelle.regens…/photos_stream

"My wife Barbara has a store that we´ve had 5 years in Donaustauf and you must really go there. It is a great store. When we travel we always meet the people that we carry in the store face to face the first time and from that point on we can do the online purchasing. Yet I want to meet the people first. It is funny though since now I run the store in Regensburg we disagree on things. I´ll say I want that in my store and she´ll say O my gosh THAT! or she´ll say I want this and I´ll say THIS! and it is funny because we´re different.!"

Michaela pictured above owns the cool Ludwigreen3... an environmentally correct shopping experience that only carries organic products from the "earth" as I love to dub these fair trade concept stores. When I ask Michaela if she knows the "Green Sheikh" of http://www.greensheikh.com/ Ajman one of the emirates...who received his name because of the ecological work he does. She says that yes she has heard of him.  Michaela has probably heard of every environmentally concious person around. Take a walk around her store and you´ll see why. Below Love Teas the best loose leaf teas around and My Muesli you know that Granola stuff?

Three of the young owners above, "Can you show all of the flavors above?" They say and ask me to show the blackboards..."We work with a Chinese company and we designed our own hardware and cigarette equipment so the ones that they buy are our own and the liquids we made too." That is entrepreneurial in the works..."We plan on maybe working with a couple of nightclubs such as SUD or Ernst in the future since it is legal to smoke electronic inside but it isn´t legal to smoke cigarettes...maybe organic liquids in the future. Right now we´re so busy we can´t keep up!"
"There is me I am Tom, and Phil, Rene and Joseph, and we all started the company about 4 months now. We have our own clothing line named dampftbeidir and that is the big company and the small company under that is named  rauch FREI. We make our own vapors you know the liquids and it is all of our own creations." he says. They´re a young group of huge energy and imagination with tons of projects on the table. "We have a online store and soon people can order from the online store their own creations...say I want 15% of that and 10% of that and 5% of that and they come in and we make it in the store:" cool.  OSTENGASSE 1

" he says.

"Now the project in addition to seeing and interviewing for the workshop exhibits...is to improve lunch!" he says...although they have bagels.;) so I am happy!

REGENSBURG ARCADEN WHERE YOU CAN RIDE BOUNCING HORSES AND ELEPHANTS!

Ever want to bring your child to the mall and ride horses around it? Try the Regensburg Mall the Arcaden where there is a little section that while you shop your child has fun bouncing up and down around the stores! It is named ride the funny animals...my favorite is the Elephants since I love Elephants. I am a republican.!

Jo says, "We find furniture around Europe and we redo it such as here. A guest asked if we could custom-make the head board of the bed and we painted "open" on it!" (The puppy loves it too.)

The first day that they opened was October 1 2013 and that day they had all the friends and fellow merchants on the street in and outside drinking Prosecco and horse duevers..."That is fun working with all my friends who constantly call me and ask me to come and cut their hair but I say now I have the store and they come in here instead. That is fun and going to France and to Austria and to Italy and actually finding the furniture is fun. We have calls from everybody who asks us to come and pick up the furniture. We take it here and we redo it to make it beautiful. That is what I enjoy the most." says Jo.

Here is my favorite item in the interior design store...a Prachtvolles, altes Küchen-Buffet..."We went to Belgium and bought it from a sale in a huge home...not exactly a Palace a little smaller!" Jo and Ludwig say when I ask where they found such a beautiful piece of furniture...and the proudly show me the pull-out cutting boards! COOL.   THE BEST NEWS? You can order the kuchen-Buffet from the internet site and have it sent to America for less than 1/4 of what you could find a beautiful 100 year old authentic collectible in America for! http://de.dawanda.com/…/73216099-Prachtvolles-altes-Kuechen…

When I ask how long the store has been opened? "1 year and a couple of months..." says Ludwig. Wow. And what they did before the store? "Ludwig was the manager in KARE  in the city of Regensburg and I cut hair!" Says Jo and he smooths his bald head! I laugh and ask if he misses cutting hair? "No, I don´t miss cutting hair and I don´t miss having hair!" Ludwig laughs and says that it is much more fun in the store. I ask if they´re home is as beautiful as the store? "It is our taste in the store. Our home is like this but the store is more beautiful." Jo says. I say that I can imagine that their home is gorgeous. If you are in the Bavarian region come directly to the store or order one online. IT is more fun in the store though!

Marco started the company about 12 years now and has 3 people total that work for Robotics. "We build the platforms at the company and work with England who supplies us with the sensors. We went to a MIT fair in Boston where we showed one of the Robotic hands and NASA picked it up. I worked with NASA about 10 days. It is cool because the Robotic hand that we made is a lot less than the million euro hand that a big competitor had made. "My hand shook the Prime Minister´s hand of Bavaria at a Bavarian fair and the million euro hand couldn´t shake it because it was too strong! We thought that is funny since ours is a little company and we made it to the Prime Minister:)"he says.
Stefan has owned the Hempy´s store in Regensburg about 10 years now, "Yes my father has a import and export business in Morrocco which is my favorite country and my mother has one of these stores in Straubing...it is a circle of the family" he says. "And of course we have the shi-sha."

But we too can grow tomato plants, " he says as he shows me the trays to grow the tomatoes:)Emoticons Evil Tomato Says YES

In the most northern italian city in germany! with 30,000 students new coming every year you would think that Stefan would have to work almost 24/7 every day just to keep up with all of them!
"tomorrow, " Marcos says! and then there is Pascal,"I want to marry a beautiful woman in 2015" he says and they all laugh and say that yes that is all Pascal talks about!

They are not for sale."  She says when I ask her if anyone comes i and wants to buy the paintings. Above the stairway in the main dining room is religious art depicting the giving and receiving of food as in the gift of life and although these paintings take on the feel of the 1000 year old stone wall set below and behind the stairs where one of her modern paintings hang, they set the stage to let hers in.

Emmeanesbook.yolasite.com is number 3,083th in the world.

http://www.soundaktuell.de/   okay would you love to see the biggest and the coolest and the friendliest and I am saying again and again the friendliest music store in Regengsburg...check out the Sound Aktuel in Gewerbepark.

I try each one and play it."

loved loved loved em they´re hilarious to talk to and I suppose they have great books... we´re too busy talking to read much but they have a great section of chilldren´s books and Bernd and  Andrea the team of "we´ve been with each other 25 years now...we´re still not married!" says Andrea giggling. You´ll love both of em...I felt very Jewish in the store..I could "vent" for hours and they would just add their opinions...cool people and they DO have a great children´s section...

When Andrea joins Bernd to the store she says, "O he has been telling you all about us! I hope it is only about the bookstore!" and I say yes that the story is about their 25 years of involvement in  books! And how only one year they´ve had the store above. As we talk about 1 hr in and out is the people mailing Christmas presents from DHL and they say that yes they do that in addition to the books. One person brings in a huge Amazon box..."O all of the old books that we´ve had a while we add to Amazon and if someone googles the online Amazon store they can buy directly from there. But right now if you would love to guy a book for yourself or as a gift you must come into the store." she says. They  have children´s readings and in April at the International Book Fair they have special events. They´re a sweet couple and funny to talk to...visit:)

Above is Bernd who says that he is a loyal Star Wars collector. The Star Fighter above follows you around with that toy every direction that you take...I told Bernd that he reminds me of Jesus´s eyes in the famous painting that    no matter which direction you see the painting from it looks like Jesus is staring at you with his eyes...that is the Star fighter! He also has a Darth Vadar that he says is about 25 years old and has its own story...a friend gave it to him to add to the store since it gathered dust in his Grandfather´s basement! At the beginning of the year Bernd has said, "I have a huge model collection of Star Wars and I am bringing that to the store and although I have to keep it out of the hands of children who would grab the models I am adding it to my collection." So all you Star Wars fans can come pick out a Star Wars book and see the models!

Here is the cool Indoor Soccer Courts in Regensburg. We at America have indoor sports for just about everybody but this is something new...it has two little baby courts that the owner named Speed courts, "Yes maybe 5 and 6 year olds play here. It is funny to see the little ones play. On the big courts we have teams of 5 and 6 and 7 and they have leagues or just come to play at night. You can rent the court for 45 minutes and 45 minutes and if you have 10 players they each pay only 9Euros. It is fun and inexpensive to do. In the bar area is where we watch Championship sports on the television." says the owner pictured here with a guest that brought in a popcorn machine. (The popcorn is super good and tastes sweet like caramel corn!) Find the fun public soccer on the internet at  http://www.kickarena.com/   Im Gewerbepark D22  Tel + 49 (0)941/461 22-44
"It is a fun job of course. People come here to have fun. That is it and drink a beer and watch the games. I have people come from Nuremberg and Regensburg of course and some come from Munich. It is a great team effort and we do birithday parties all the time." He says and shows me the birthday schedule. The kids receive pizza and ice cream and drinks and the entire court for one and 1/2 hrs to play. It is pretty funny.
The popcorn maker and the owner at the bar. I say that iti s a great way to have a beer and watch the game and babysit at the same time. You can bring the little ones for a couple of hours of fun playing soccer while you check out Bayern! on the tele! and the wifey doesn´t even get mad when you say you went out for a drink! Hmm...must of been invented by a man!

Thomas and Christine of a Specialty Store Vom Fass
"We love what we do now. Totally love it." I ask if they feel like it is their second career "It is a new start. We had to find a place to live in  Regensburg and since it is our territory and the franchise is territorial we had to find a place to find how do you say? to lease? for the business! We love it. I came from Munchen and he came from Augsburg. We love Regensburg. We don´t miss Munchen at all!" She says. I say that I love the little gift baskets and she says that is why the specialty store is such fun. "Me and my husband we both make the gift baskets. We shopped at Munchen 15 years in the Vom Fass store there. That is how we made the choice to open our own." In addition to the wines and liquors they have me taste the vinegars and oils and they´re all fruit originally and taste great. Wow what a cool store!

"Here try that one, "Christine´s husband says as he hands me one of the bubbly laboratory at about 40Some% alcohol...yum tastes good like Bailey´s Irish Creme! and the next one tastes great too and the third is lovely...Now we walk to the Wines and Champagnes and Christina says that Chablis "Les Vallions" is her favorite, "And the Champagne of course. Everybody loves the 20 Anniversary edition red wine. They all come in and buy it. We only have one bottle left here!" I ask her if when the 21st anniversary comes if she thinks that they shall send a 21st edition from the same vineyard in Spain since everybody loves the wine and she giggles and says that she hopes so! "The first Saturday we opened we were so busy!" That is since they´ve only been opened about 4 weeks. "Since it is the Christkindles we´re happy we opened now here. It has been over one year since we started the process of buying the franchise. In Germany and the world Vom Fass has about 280 franchises." And have they tried all of the products in the store? Her and her husband both laugh, "Yes of course" they say. "We have to, " he says. "It is important to try all of the items since we need to know how to explain them to the guests." I say that I would be drinking the products all day long and although they seem ecstatically happy maybe it wouldn´t be such a great idea for me to have a liquor franchise! "We hired Jan (who performs a funny pose) when we opened and today is Beate´s first day!" She says of the people working in the store. When I ask if they´re from Regensburg they both giggle and say they´re German as is everybody, yet from citys near Regensburg. I say that is funny since they all chose Regensburg yet they all come from other places! "I know. We love Regensburg though since the people are really nice. Really nice." I hope the new life they´ve chosen works out perfect for them. Come say hi and taste some of that other great liquor you know the ones that don´t begin with "Glub wine"...we love that strong stuff:)

http://www.musik-wittl.de/CMS/index.php While you say O yes I shall sign up my child with music lessons the first store on the list is a store that has guitars and musical instruments...check out Heidi Wittl, Alfred Wittl and Anna Wittl at the Wittl Music Stores in Regensburg at HaidPlatz 1

And while you mosey across the Stone Bridge check out the Christkindle Mercatos that the Spital Beer Gardens sponsorings...they have the usual punch and the Regensburgers yet a funny little haymercato with live sheep...pictured here is a little tyke with the tag of 37...I hope Prince Albert buys that one:)

http://www.altstadtoptiker.de/ is a family owned eyeglass store...one of the opticians pictured here has been here about 45 years and he is friendly with the camera...his son is located near the huge bookstore across from Anna´s coffee in Regensburg, "We have the two stores. I´ve been here about maybe 7 years and then the other store is the first store. We have cool different lenses here. Some are pure gold from Japan and cost from 2,400E to 2,500E and the littlest is the ones that amount to about 31E...let´s say a eyeglass frame not everybody can afford is the 2,400E. Yet everybody can purchase the 31E one. That is why people come from everywhere to visit the stores. I can travel to China and all of Asia and find a unique piece if requested." The son Jens says.
I know that everybody had
college free and my mom and dad had great jobs and we always had food on the table.

Iron Trizone OHG is a serious professional cyclist's dream store...Regensburg however they laugh a lot:)

Matthias, the other owner of the store, is in the repair shop"Yes I can fix bikes...I am one of the owners...". he says as if of course he can why else would he own a bike store!.. well, it is good to know we have efficient people in Regensburg...

One of the bike repair specialists says, "O me? I fix the problems...if you have a problem with a bike bring it to me..." Emme.: my problem is I need a bike...  He laughs,"We can help you with that too:"

How much are the gorgeous bikes?"They range from 1000E to about maybe 10,000Euros here but we could actually order one of about 50,000Euros! Yes you would have digital gears and all of that...but it is still a bike and you have to pedal!" Lugwig one of the owners of the store says..."It is a professional bike shop...we carry racing bikes and mountain bikes. We are the only store in Regensburg that fits you to a bike. It takes about 1hr to 1and1/2hrs to fit the bike. We video tape you, measure you, adjust the shoulders and the seat and the handlebars...and YES it does make a difference. It is much more comfortable and many more hours of efficient riding when a bike is fitted correctly."  Emme...or buy a cheap bike dont get fitted and spend hours at the massage therapist...! ow ow ow ow. However come to Ludwig for those serious pros, "I choose the bike with the people and I know what will fit them."

Michele is from Italy and um can I say funny! "I am from italy yes but it is Global now. I am feeling European and Italian and German. Now we all feel more European. It is like an embroyo not like a baby since America is a baby but the Europe now is mixing to become a little America. It is the last 10 years. America is about 450 years old. Europe is 1,000s of years old." Yes I say that is why Americans love Germany and Europe because we love the Germans being German, the Italians being Italian , the French etc and all of the differences of each other. But it is the reverse now in Europe. "Yes it is Global  now. That is the restaurant Rinaldi. It is a little Italian, a little German, a little Mediterranean. The people come here and I hope it is the feel of a Living Room.  I owned the restaurant 8 years now and everyday it is full of happy people."                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      http://www.caffe-rinaldi.de/

"When I see the world it is everybody. When I see a child laugh I say why does that child smile. I want to know why. That laugh and that smile is a special gift...the eyes of a child." says Michele.

Goldfuss Geigenbau

                                        http://www.goldfuss-geigenbau.de/
The violin of 3 Ancestorial Generations at Regensburg is amazing simply amazing in fact that I am sending the article to the Philadelphia Orchestra members...they must fly here and buy a new violin! It is a true artisans woodworking palace all real and all sawdust and a   handle cello here and a bass there. Little rooms of 1/2 finished violins , a huge very expensive bass cello getting reworked a new face so to speak. the father Horst sits with his wife , a lovely 60ish woman blonde coiffed hair holding a huge horse's tail long and wirey. Yes real. He pulls a couple of hairs to make the violin bow. They let me touch it and it is a real horse's tail.
Violinists the Serious ones around the world come here.                 0941 53556
Thomas the son goes into the backroom and brings back another long horse's tail , "It is about 1500 Euros and the horse's tail takes a couple of years to grow back." The horse's come from the region of Bohemia. "The violins cost abut 20,000E to 25,000E each and each is custom handmade to fit the person. It is important for somebody from America  to fly here to try the instruments in the workshop. The most expensive one in here is about 300,000Euros."

He leads me to the backroom where there is a huge map on the wall, "My grandfather started the making of violins here..." he points to a part that from Germany turned now Czech Republic.."He came from Bohemia here. Nowadays they ship about 300,000 cellos, violins and guitars to America from that region."

As I chatted with The owner he showed me pictures of the olden times of Regensburg on his walls. I asked him how it had changed over the years the little town of Regensburg. "There was a time in Regensburg when 30%  of the property is owned of Thurn und Taxis, 30% of the Government and 30% privately owned. Nowadays the majority of percent is maybe almost 20% and most is 10% here 10% here 10% here...much privately owned properties now. We used to be in then the building of where Emma's is about 10 years since and now we moved here. "
One of the nicest people I have ever met is the owner of,       Oma Plusch in Regensburg. They are located down a little cobblestoned alley in a cavern about 1 meter below the street level...all wood beams etc. The beer is good as each restaurant in Regensburg typically carries one beer here it

He shows me the pictures of the family.                                                                                           His Grandfather and father                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               and his mother too! 1961 vs. 2011

The soup is the greatest and I know I ate it...mushroom soup complete with carved wooden bowls and steins for beer. All is authentic and when I ask if the real Henry the 8th is going to come tothe party such as in London's medieval evernts he assures me that the Royalty is missing...which of course brings us to the subject of the German Royalty such as the resident prince and princesses of the Thurn und Taxis..."The German government did away with the titles of German nobility a long time ago " he says and I tell him that the German government must reinstate such titles...after all Germany has as much right to Princes and Princesess as Spain and Italy and France and England and Luxemburg and they all have nobility. "Yes that is true Wilhelm says...we shall see..." in the meantime come t the Mittelateriche if you can say it it means translated the Medieval tavern...and eat great food and drink real beer and be medieval. If you're lucky you can catch real lute players and Wilhelm is bandying about the idea of Medieval Murder Dinner Mysterys...fun fun fun.

Complete with tapestrys on the wall

and guests dressed up in medieval outfits sharing soup from a soup bowl...

the restaurant/cave brings you back to an era of fantasy and splendor...

and while all of the servants and guests dont look like that...

it is enough that some of these do! ha ha just kidding...but come and have fun.

Okay there is a great candle making store ...and since I am the worst with directions I can try to tell you how to find

Head to the stone bridge...but dont cross it make a right instead walk along the river there is another bridge keep going along the river near all of the river boats and there is a 3rd bridge that is the one. Now you can walk along Ostengasse

and come to Chaplins Taverna...keep walking to the 3rd bridge...pass the 3rd bridge keep walking and it is right before Pikls Auto Dealership...now when you enter say hi to Kristina and she can help you put your wedding pictures on candles and they have huge religious ones with the pope's pictures on em...

here is the That's... ,um,storys  Knock Knock...Who's There Banana...Banana Who...Knock Knock...Who's There? Banana...Banana Who? Knock Knock Who's There? Orange Orange Who? Orange you glad I didn't say it's a Banana?

Okay need to come to the Bar Mood it is as you view the stone bridge if it is still there in the morning after the torrential rains as you view the stone bridge from the city head to the left and there is the Orange you glad I didnt say Banana clubs and across the street is the Club MOOD... at the Club Mood met two fellows at the bar...on the video above the bar as we chatted is Prince Albert flying in the air wiht a couple of friends...a little bit better than James Bond in Sky Fall...one of the guys at the bar a real smart ass said that he is a banker..."Bankers in Germany especially in Regensburg are at the bottom of the respect pile."   Emme: Really? Financial Guys, Doctors, Lawyers, these all at the top of respect at least at America."

Regensburg Banker Guy, "That used to be the way but now Bankers no one trusts em all of Germany when I say I am a banker they all say o your shit bankers they're like hookers."

Emme laughing, "Um okay American Financial people such as Stock Brokers and Doctors etc they're the best."

Regensburg "Banker Guy Friend sitting next to him laughing, "Ya I am a waiter and bartender." Emme: Is it true that at Germany bankers aren't respected?

Friend, "Yes that is true."  Emme: And did you go to college to be a waiter?

Friend, "I went a little college. a little here. a little there."

Banker Guy still complaining, "Ya everytime someone comes to the teller window they complain about me and they don't treat me with respect."

Emme: Okay we get it that banker people aren't respected  at Regensburg. You know a friend of mine was the Vice President of a Bank and he embezzeled $694,000.00 in 6-1/2 years and the feds caught him after 7 years and put him in federal prison 3 years which is like the Ritz Carlton and they never found the money and he got out and flew somewhere to some exotic island.  If you're white collar you commit a white collar crime you go to federal prison...the 5 stars prison but if you're blue collar you go to the worst prison ever.  Blue collar is you know you don't where collars to work like white shirts like bankers, doctors, lawyers etc.

Friend, "What job is blue collar?"

Emme: Like construction workers, traffic signs you know those people putting road block signs up.

Friend, "I went to college but I work at a bar and restuarant."Emme: That's okay but you wouldn't go to federal prison unless you committed a white

collar crime such as embezzeling money from a bank.

Banker, "I am going out side I'll be right back-is that the way of Goodfellows they have their own private chefs?"   Emme: Yes.

Banker, "We're all going to Venice Beach. A ton of my friends. Here let me show you on the phone."  He googles Venice Beach and I take the phone and I google better pictures of Venice Beach California which is totally cool."

Friend, "Yes I am staying at Regensburg because I am poor."

Emme: You should have your banker friend embezzele tons of money before he goes and he can take you with him. There is plenty of jobs at Venice Beach California for Bartenders and Waiters.

Friend, "I would be afraid that the feds would catch me."
Emme: They can't even catch a banker that embezzeled £694,000.00 and the kid was in my grandfather's highschool math class. My grandfather said you know Tommy was never very good at math. He must have had helpers. He wasn't even that smart. Besides that is why all the Mexicans come to California from Mexico to work in Restuarants and Bars under the table.
Banker Friend, "And It even has a hot tub. See the Hot tub. We're going to pick up hot chicks every night."
Emme: They all look like Chritie Brinkley. They're all roller skating on the boardwalk. See on the phone. That is all of em.

Banker Guy, "See it is right there at Venice Beach. We're renting it for a couple of weeks. Do you know that all of the t millionaire homes people rent them out to vacation people?"
Emme: Yes I know that is all they do. About 3 weeks a year the owners come there. But anyway back to your friend...you should really take him with you. He would have a lot of fun.
Banker Friend, "No I am going to Thailand. I went there a couple of years ago and now I am going there again."
Emme: Do people at Regensburg play in the flood waters the way that Venecia Italy play in the waters?

Both of the Bar Guys buying me a beer and the Banker giving me a 2 euro donation to do the around Germany ticket, "No no people don't play in the river waters...o  Emme: O I thought that maybe as a banker person you were used to your Banker Vice President always checking the teller drawer to see if it matched.
Banker Guy, "No no they never check the drawers."

And before that one of the bands playing at the Irish Harp Regensburg right across from the Stone bridge unless the river washes it away...and then it will probably take the Irish Harp with it so....
